Most people don't like their jobs. They're usually just in for the money right? A job's a job yeah? Well that's how you felt. Working in a local guitar shop wasn't the most exciting thing you could do to earn your cash, but it payed the bills. It was the usual Sunday morning, not many customers all day which meant that it was a pretty boring shift and all you could really do was go round cleaning, fixing and rearranging the guitars on the shelves. Just after fixing one of the shelves, you went and sat back down at the counter waiting for anyone to arrive. You had your earphones in blasting your favourite song, not really paying much attention to anything. Until you heard the bell, signalling that someone had entered the shop. Quickly you pulled your earphones out and stood up, ready to greet the customer. He was a tall boy, probably around the age of 18, blonde hair and gorgeous blue eyes. He looked around the shop and smiled when his eyes landed on you.

"Hey. I'm Y/N. Can I help you with anything?" You smile, walking up to the stranger.

"Uh yeah I'm looking for a new acoustic guitar actually." The boy smiled back.

"Okey dokey then, they're just over here" you said as you lead him over to the wide selection of guitars your shop had to offer.

"Oh wow! Thanks Y/N these are amazing!" He grinned.

"No problem..." You stopped as you realised you didn't know the boy's name yet.

"Oh yeah, I'm Luke" He said, his teeth glistening as he smiled. Luke began looking around at the guitars whilst you sat on a stool, tuning one of your favourites. You were busy tuning the guitar but that didn't stop you from catching the little glances Luke kept giving you, from the corner of your eye. Not really knowing what else to do, you began to strum the guitar to a song you knew how to play, not paying much attention to anything. Well, not until like spoke up anyway...

"You know how to play?" He asked.

"Yeah. I'm not very good though" you laughed, putting the guitar back down.

"Well that didn't sound bad. In fact it sounded really good" he smirked.

"Well thanks" you smiled awkwardly. In order to change the subject you decided to talk.

"So what brings you here? Apart from looking for a new guitar of course" you giggled.

"Just really wanted a new acoustic. I have an acoustic session with my band tomorrow and so I thought I'd drop in and see what I could get" he informed you, still looking at the instruments in front of him.

"Cool. You should try that one" pointing up to the shiny black acoustic on the middle shelf.

"Really?" He said.

"Yeah. Sounds really good, easy to tune and play and it looks nice too" you smiled.

"Could I try it out?" Luke asked.

"Sure!" You said whilst you got off the stool and grabbed the guitar for him. You handed it over and your hands brushed together, earning a shy smile from the both of you. He sat down on one of the other stools and began to play the guitar. You found yourself watching him in awe. The way he focused on playing the right notes and the way his nose scrunched up every time he moved his fingers. He finished the little song and looked up, smiling at you.

"That was awesome!" You cried.

"It was nothing really" he said, looking down shyly.

"It was not nothing. It was amazing!"

"Play with me?" He asked, looking up into your eyes.

"Why?" You laughed

"Because your good" he said, with a 'duh' expression on his face.

"Okay then." You picked up the guitar from where you had put it earlier as Luke began to play. You instantly recognised the song as Firefly by Ed Sheeran. Picking up the familiar tune you too started to play. He sang the first verse and you picked up on the chorus.

There's a firefly

Loose tonight

Better catch it

Before it burns this place down

And I lie

If I don't feel so right

But the world looks better

Through your eyes

You both played the rest of the song perfectly and even sang a little yourself. Both finishing the song, you placed the guitar back down and looked at Luke. He had a huge smile on his face and his blue eyes were sparkling in the light as they looked into yours.

"You played that perfectly" he complimented you.

"Well you surpassed perfect. You're so good." You replied.

"I think I'll take this." He smiled, holding the guitar carefully in his hands.

"Sure, bring it up to the counter and I'll sort you out."

As you walked over to the counter, you took the guitar off Luke and checked it, making sure it wasn't damaged or anything. You told him the price and he handed the amount over, his fingers brushing yours once again.

"Well I hope you enjoy your new guitar Luke" you grinned.

"Thank you. I'm sure I will. Thanks for playing with me by the way. You were amazing."

"It was my pleasure" you assured him.

"Urm do you maybe want to I don't know like hang out sometime?" He asked nervously scratching the back of his neck.

"I'd love to" you smiled.

He leaned across the counter and placed a soft kiss on your cheek. He walked out but not before turning around and smiling at you once again. You looked down at the counter to find a small piece of paper lying there.

I didn't get a chance to tell you, but you're beautiful. I hope I can see you tomorrow whilst I'm still in town. Call me? P.s you don't suck at guitar ;) Lots of love ~ Luke xx

You smiled as you read the little note Luke had left you. Looks like work isn't too bad after all.
