"Y/N it's Christmas Eve cheer up!" You mum said sternly. You sighed and mumbled a 'sorry', your gaze not leaving your feet.
"You miss him don't you?" Your mum said softly.
"Yeah." You admitted.
"Don't worry Y/N you'll be able to see Calum soon" She smiled as she walked into your kitchen. Truth was, you didn't know when you were going to be able to see your boyfriend. He was away on tour with his band 5 Seconds of Summer. Cal was currently on the other side of the world on Christmas Eve. He wouldn't be home for another two weeks, meaning you would only get to see him after the new year. Usually Calum texts you everyday, you know, asking how you are and what you've been up to and obviously not missing out the parts where he repeatedly tells you how much he misses you. Today, you hadn't received one word from Calum. Not even an emoji. Nothing. Zilch. You had talked to him quite a bit yesterday though. Maybe he thought you were being clingy? Are you too clingy? Thoughts filled your mind as to why your boyfriend hadn't texted you all day. Endless questions were running through your brain until they were interrupted by your mum shouting you for dinner.
Picking at your food, your parents talked to each other, not really discussing anything else but their jobs and the latest news. After you'd finished eating you got up from the table and placed your dishes in the sink. Deciding to go upstairs to your room to try and cheer yourself up, you said goodnight to your parents and trudged up to your bedroom. A film maybe? That should cheer you up a little. You scanned over your DVDs and smiled when you found Elf, one of the best Christmas movies of all time. Putting it in the DVD player you shut your curtains, got into your fluffy pyjamas and settled into bed. The film began and you smiled as you snuggled up into your quilt and pillows.
11:30, your clock read as the film ended. Still some time to kill right? Elf had considerably improved your mood but there's always one more thing to do the trick. Music! Earphones lay on your table beside your bed, which you grabbed and plugged into your phone. Putting the playlist of your favourite songs on shuffle, you got comfortable in bed and closed your eyes, eventually drifting into a peaceful sleep.

Blinding light hit your tired eyes as you began to wake up. Stretching, you turned to your clock. It read 9am. Wait. It's Christmas Day! You leaped out of bed and ran downstairs, your mood 10 times better than it was last night already. The smell of bacon drifted through the house along with the sound of your mum and dad talking quietly. You ran down the stairs and you heard their conversation quickly stop.
"Good morning!" Your mum smiled cheerfully as she came over to you to give you a big hug.
"Morning mum" you laughed. "Morning dad" you smiled.
"Morning sweetheart" your dad said as he pulled you into a side hug.
"Soooo..." You said rocking back on your heals.
"Yes you can open your presents" your mum said, laughing at how excited you still were.
"YESSSS!" You screamed, punching the air and running to the Christmas tree. You were followed in by your mum and dad as you began tearing open your presents. Everything they had bought you was amazing. Clothes, money, some books and a few other things too. But one thing was missing: Calum. As your parents opened their presents you tried not to let your thoughts of Calum get to you. Both your mum and dad had finished opening their presents when they turned to you.
"Y/N we have a little surprise for you. Well maybe not that little." your dad said, earning a laugh from your mum.
"What do you mean?" You asked, confused.
"Turn around and find out" A familiar voice rang through your ears. Your head spun round and stood there with a little bow on his head was Calum.
"NO WAY! YOU CAN'T BE! OH MY GOD!" You screamed as Calum's arms stretched out ready for a hug. Without hesitation you jumped up and ran into your boyfriends arms, which wrapped around your waist as your head was buried into his neck.
"Merry Christmas to you too" Cal giggled.
"I missed you so much" you mumbled, trying not to cry.
"I missed you too beautiful." You pulled away from the tight embrace and smiled. He was finally here.
"When did you get here?" You asked him.
"Uh early this morning. I landed at the airport and came straight here so I could be here when you woke up."
"Wait, so you guys knew about this?" You questioned your parents, eyebrows raised.
"We did" your mum smiled proudly.
"Wow I'm surprised you managed to keep it from me" you said causing everyone to laugh.
"Sorry I didn't get you a present though. The airport doesn't sell much..." Cal laughed.
"Don't worry about it, you're the best present I could receive" you smiled.
"I love you" Whispered Cal.
"I love you too" you smiled. As you and Calum were about to kiss you heard a loud beeping noise coming from the ceiling. Smoke started to fill your nose causing you to turn to Calum and then to your parents with wide eyes.
"THE BACON!" Your parents yelled in unison, running off to the kitchen. Both you and Calum burst out laughing at your parents' lack of cooking skills. "Talk about an eventful morning." You laughed as you pulled Calum in to kiss you.
