August is a month known for being sunny and humid. A month where the sun is constantly shining and a month in which all is well. Unfortunately that particular day of August had been quite the opposite. After several weeks of sun, the weather had taken a rather nasty turn.
"Why the heck did it have to be today?" grumbled the dark-haired young girl with pigtails and unusually baggy clothes, who was holding an umbrella over her friend's head as well as her own.
"Relax, Marinette. We can go to the restaurant tomorrow if you want" replied the other girl, a redhead with tanned skin, in an attempt to calm her less calm and composed friend down.
"But I won't be free tomorrow, Alya! I have to help my parents at the bakery, remember? Today was my only free day this week! Just my luck that the rain had to come TODAY!" said Marinette in an overly dramatic manner.
"Girl, just calm your tits, will ya? Just because this place is closed because of all this rain doesn't mean that we can't have fun" Alya said brightly "Let's go hang out somewhere else"
"....fine" came Marinette's prompt reply
"Where do you wanna go?" asked Alya.
"Nowhere in particular" shrugged Marinette airily.
"So we just wander about in the streets of Paris in the middle of nowhere on a gloomy, rainy day like complete and utter idiots?" Alya scoffed.
"Yup!" Marinette replied enthusiastically, causing her more sensible friend to shake her head in a mixture of exasperation and amusement.
Unfortunately, Marinette's enthusiasm disappeared as quickly as it came.
Just as the two friends started on their way, a motorbike sped up right in front of them and, upon driving carelessly over a nearby puddle, splattered them with mud. That did it.
"YOU CARELESS JERK! GET BACK OVER HERE RIGHT NOW!" Marinette yelled at the driver of the motorcycle who had rushed past them without even an apology.
The biker sighed irritably and came over to them. He took off his riding helmet, and looked at Marinette in a bored manner. He had messy blond hair and attractive emerald green eyes. But his good looks weren't enough of an excuse for our heroine.
"What the hell do you want? An autograph? If so, I don't have the time" the boy told them blankly. Marinette disdainfully let out a flat, monotonous laugh.
"Oh, you think you're being so funny talking nonsense, don't you?" she spat venomously "Well sorry to break it to you, but no! I do NOT want the autograph of the guy who just ruined our clothes and didn't even care to apologize to us!"
"Why should I apologize to you when I actually did you a favor? Your taste in fashion is totally ridiculous!" he argued back.
"...he kinda has a point" Alya whispered to her friend. But Marinette wasn't having it.
"Says the guy who looks like a woodland creature crawled into his hair and died there!" she snapped, beginning to lose her temper. Not that she had even bothered to control it in the first place anyway, though.
"Quit being a whiny little brat and get out of my sight, will you? I'm losing brain cells just by talking to a dumbass like you!" sneered our hero.
"Do you even HAVE brain cells? Because you sure don't act like someone who does!" came Mari's heated reply.
"You have no right whatsoever to talk to ME like that! Girls like you really get on my nerves! Here! Use this is to go and buy yourself a better personality!" the boy said, losing his nonexistent composure and handing out some money from his wallet
And then, in a fit of rage and without even thinking, Marinette picked up a brick that was lying on the streets and struck at the windshield glass of the boy's motorcycle.
"YOU BITCH!" the boy screeched " YOU RUINED MY WINDSHIELD!"
"Yeah? Well, you ruined my day" said Mari coolly, although she regretted what she had just done. But she couldn't help but feel that the boy had deserved it. And then she pulled out her own wallet and took out some money.
"Boys like you really get on my nerves. Here, use this to go and buy yourself a better personality" she sneered at him mockingly.
"You're going to regret this!" he threatened "You are SO going to--"
Something began to vibrate within his pocket, his cellphone. He pulled it out to see what it was. It was a text from his father.
'Adrien, come home immediately. Sneaking out of the house has consequences. How many times have I told you that? Return home at once and I might just reconsider punishing you' the text read.
Adrien sighed and put the phone back in his pocket and, with one last glare at the girl who had angered him so much, drove his bike away from her.
"That was totally unnecessary" Alya sighed exasperatedly at her aggressive best friend.
"He deserved it" hissed Marinette.
"He did what he did accidentally!" said Alya, trying to snap some sense into the fuming girl standing next to her.
"He's a guy! Guys never do things like that accidentally!" came Marinette's heated reply.
"Putting that aside, do you even KNOW who that guy was?" asked Alya, wiping her smudged glasses on her sleeves "Because if you DID know, then you wouldn't have done it"
"I'll be honest, Alya. I don't really care who he is" said Marinette "I just hope that I NEVER run into him again. Ever."
