"Today was hell"

"Come ON, Alya! Its just school!"

And so it was. It was their lunch break and they were back at College Francoise Dupont from their eleventh year after a long summer vacation which consisted mostly of Alya hearing Marinette rant on and on about that one boy they met back in August, the one whose windshield was broken by Mari.

Now Alya knew exactly who that boy was. She knew that he was none other than the famous Adrien Agreste. But Marinette didn't seem to be the least bit interested in knowing who he was. She only seemed interested in using the boy as an example of men's "jerkishness".

Alya was used to her best friend's constant display of man-hate. She knew for a fact that the best way to get Mari to stop ranting about something was simply to ignore her.

"Honestly, how the heck do you even enjoy school?" Alya sighed irritably.

"I don't enjoy it. I just...prioritize it, unlike you"

But Alya wasn't listening to Marinette now. She had just spotted 'the love of her life' and, before anyone could even ask her what she was staring at, she rushed over to him at full speed and wrapped him into a tight embrace.

"Nino! I missed you SO much!" she squealed. Mari resisted the urge to roll her eyes at her friend's sudden change of attitude. Normally, Alya was a sensible and confident person. But she just seemed to transform into an overly affectionate and childish mess whenever she was with her boyfriend.

" I--can't--fucking--breathe--" choked Nino, who was literally being squashed by his girlfriend. She immediately let go.

"I'm so sorry" she giggled "So how was your summer?"

"It would've been better if I were with you" Nino smirked before pulling her into a kiss.

"Uhh...I'm still here, you know" said Marinette awkwardly "Should I...just...leave you two alone for now?"

The two immediately jumped apart, a bit embarrassed  and silently cringing.

"Oh hey, Marinette. I...err...didn't see you there" Nino said, in an attempt to get rid of the awkwardness of the current situation "How was your vacation?"

"Ah, the dreaded question. It was--" Marinette began, only to immediately be interrupted by Alya, who had no intention of hearing her rant again.

"Hey Nino! Do you think all three of us could sit together for lunch today?" Alya asked in a loud and over-enthusiastic voice, to stop Marinette from being able to complain about Adrien.

"Sounds great. Only it can't be three of us" replied Nino.

"Err...its fine if you don't want me to accompany you guys..." Marinette said, secretly grateful at the thought of not having to endure the pain of Alya and Nino flirting shamelessly as if they were the only two people in the whole world.

"That's not what I meant. I meant there's this other guy, you know, a friend of mine" Nino explained "Would you two be okay with that?"

"The more the merrier!" said Alya brightly as she dragged her low-key reluctant best friend to grab their lunch trays.

It was quite a shame that Marinette had taken so much good food only to clumsily drop her entire tray the moment she saw who Nino's new friend was.

It was Adrien Agreste.

"What the hell are you doing here!?" he asked, shocked.

"No! What are YOU doing here?" she crossed her arms, glaring at the boy. He glared back at her.

"Isn't it obvious? I'm new here! Are you really that stupid?" he sneered.

"You know what? I bet your ass is jealous of the amount of shit that comes out of your mouth" said Marinette, annoyed. He glared at her again.

"You...." he hissed.

"Me...." she replied, smirking.

"Uhh...how do you two know each other?" asked Nino, who was in confusion.

"Long story short, she was a complete and utter bitch to me and I promised to give her what she deserves" Adrien told him.

"I...still don't get it..."

"Allow me to explain then, Nino" said Marinette" Alya and I were going out together. It was raining. He was driving his damned motorcycle and he drove over a puddle and splashed us with mud. The asshole didn't even bother to apologize for it"

"It was a motherfucking accident!" Adrien growled.

"So are several cases of murder"

"You're comparing a minor incident of me splattering your ugly-ass clothes with mud to murder? You're totally mental!" he seethed.

"Guys!" Alya snapped "Calm the fuck down already!"

"Tell him to shut up first!" said Marinette, pointing at Adrien.

"Mari, just...sit down . Sit." Alya ordered.

"You can't talk to me that way! I'm not a dog!" Marrinette huffed indignantly.

"Well you're certainly acting like a bitch" quipped Adrien, smirking.

"You do know that being a dick won't make yours any bigger, right?" replied Marinette.

"What was that!?" Adrien glowered, his eyes flashing dangerously.

"The honest truth, that's what!" Marinette said, not intimidated in the least.

"You can't talk to me like that!" Adrien snapped heatedly.

"I thought I just did" came Marinette's reply.

"Who the hell do you even think you are?" scoffed our hero, whose massive ego was beginning to get bruised and deflated.

"A well-behaved, smart and independent girl who is a million times better than you" said Marinette in an arrogant manner.

"Do you have any idea who you're messing with?" seethed Adrien.

"A narcissistic jerk" replied our heroine.

"No" he replied, standing up dramatically "You're messing with THE Adrien Agreste"

"......who?"
