The day had been long and stressful. Marinette did her homework after school was over and then went on to help her parents with the bakery.
When she finally got some alone time, she still couldn't bring herself to relax. It was so pathetic. She felt so pathetic.
Why did emotions have to be so damned confusing? Most people didn't get it, but Marinette hated having emotions. They were a nuisance.
She wondered whether or not she was attracted to Luka. It didn't make sense, she couldn't be in love with someone after just one measly conversation. It was stupid.
And besides, she wasn't even allowed to like someone anyway. Her past wouldn't allow it, her dad wouldn't allow it. And above all, she didn't allow it either.
Marinette smacked herself in the face, trying to come to her senses. Stupid emotions....
She sighed. She didn't have time for this, she had work to do. She needed to study for her upcoming Geography test and--
"Oi! Why the heck is your door always locked!?" said a loud voice from outside. Someone was knocking--or rather, banging--on her door vigorously.
She irritably stood up and opened the door for her 'guest'.
"Honestly, Dupain-Cheng! What is with you and your privacy-obsession?" said Adrien moodily.
"The same thing that's with you and your self-obsession, Agreste" she replied.
"I hope you choke on all the shit you talk someday, you bitch" he retorted.
"Well, I hope you choke to death on your lies" Marinette said, raising her middle finger.
Adrien snorted and childishly stuck out his tongue at her. Marinette did the same. And then she began pulling all her textbooks out of her schoolbag and laying them down on her bed.
"So did my dad give you any death-threats today?" she asked conversationally, before starting to lecture Adrien on how his essay about the French Revolution was too short.

Adrien's phone vibrated in his pocket. He groaned irritably and pulled it out, read something and then put it back inside, looking extremely annoyed.
"My dad's sending my bodyguard to pick me up..." he said moodily. Marinette made no reply, much to the boy's further annoyance.
"Hey, Dupain-Cheng..." Adrien said slowly "Let's get outta here"
Marinette skeptically raised an eyebrow. "Why?" she asked, a bit taken aback.
"No particular reason. I just...don't feel like going home now..." he trailed off "And I don't really wanna be alone either..."
