"Adrien's in detention!?" asked Marinette incredulously. Part of her was feeling satisfied at the thought of him getting what he deserved. But a tinier portion of her brain kept on worrying about him nonstop.

"Yeah, apparently. I heard he got caught skipping class and...y'know..." said Alya as though what he was doing was obvious. Marinette raised an eyebrow in confusion. Alya sighed.

"He was making out with Kagami" she told her friend. To Alya's extreme satisfaction, the expression that made its way up Mari's face was absolutely priceless. It looked as though it were a mixture of annoyance, sadness, insecurity, aggression...and jealousy.

"What an idiot" said Mari irritably. Her friend smirked at her knowingly before changing her expression into a fake-serious one.

"Anyways, he's cleaning the Chemistry lab with Ms.Mendeleev supervising him. I honestly feel sorry for him. It'd be cool if someone could get him out of detention, no?" said Alya, trying to manipulate Mari into doing what she wanted her to do.

"He deserved it" said Marinette harshly. Although she looked angry, Alya could tell that she was a bit sad about something.

"Yeah, maybe he did. But if anyone were to help him out he'd probably be grateful to them for eternity" she said airily "By the way, I gotta go. Promised my parents I'd return home early today. See ya soon!"

And with that she walked away, completely aware of how her scheme would work out.

Marinette was not sure what she was supposed to do. She wanted to apologize to Adrien for her attitude last night and thought this was a good opportunity. At the same time, she was still quite mad at him for his immaturity.

She sighed. She was going to regret this...

"HEYYY!!!" she shouted really loudly. Ms. Mendeleev jumped out of her skin in shock and fright and then proceeded to glare at the girl. Adrien on the other hand just stared at her blankly.

"What exactly do you want, Marinette!? Haven't I told you kids a million times to keep your voices down around me!?" the teacher yelled.

"I'm sorry, Miss. I forgot..." replied Marinette, pretending to feel bad for disturbing her teacher "Anyways, there's this problem I can't quite understand. I was hoping you'd explain it to me..."

Ms.Mendeleev sighed exasperatedly and started rummaging the cupboards for the eleventh grade Chemistry book. Taking this chance, Marinette quietly opened the door and mouthed 'Go' to Adrien who glared at her, but nonetheless, did as he was told. She followed him and before leaving, closed the door discreetly behind her.
