Liv was just a tad bit nervous. Okay, maybe a little more than a tad bit. Both Gwen and Cedric had reassured her nothing would go wrong during their flying lesson, and there wasn't much chance of getting hurt since Madam Hooch wouldn't have them do any too demanding tasks, but still she was nervous. She had never even held a broom, well, not a magical one at least, much less flown one. A group of first years had been gathered together, but due to their big number they were also divided. Because of that, Olivia didn't have her flying lesson with Hannah and Susan, but she was happy once Hermione ran up to her and struck up a conversation about flying and Quidditch; a sport that Liv was just starting to learn about.

"Good afternoon class." The brisk voice of the flying instructor caught everyone's attention as she walked among them, eyeing each and every student as if trying to deem whether they'd be skilled in flying from just looking at them.

"Good afternoon Madam Hooch." Each student greeted the professor, resulting in the words being spoken as a chorus of voices melding together.

"Welcome to your first flying lesson. Well, what are you waiting for? Everyone step up to the left side of their broomstick. Come on now, hurry up. Stick your right hand over the broom and say, up!" The grey haired woman instructed, and Liv quickly did as told. She stepped over her broom so she would be on its left before extending her hand so it hovered above the handle.

"Up." She said with a firm voice, and the broom slightly shifted but it didn't fly into her hand just yet. She noticed Hermione having the same struggle as her and sent the girl a reassuring smile as she spoke. "We got this. We can do it." The words of encouragement made Hermione smile and continue to try again just as Liv did. However, their focus was slightly broken as on the other side of Olivia, Ron loudly exclaimed the command and the broom ended up smacking him right in the face.

"Are you alright Ron?" Liv asked him with a sympathetic expression while Harry laughed from across the makeshift aisle between the two rows of students.

"Shut up Harry." Ron grumbled as he rubbed his nose, trying to ease the ache that had spread from his nose. "I'm okay, thanks Olivia." He sent her a small smile, but as he smiled, it continued to grow before he himself was laughing. Knowing that he wasn't hurt, Olivia couldn't hold back a small giggle either as she turned back to her own broom.

"Up!" She instructed again, this time with a much more commanding voice and to her joy the broom shot up into her hand, slightly sending her staggering a few steps because of the force of the action. But she managed to hold on to the broom as well as maintain her balance.

"Go Liv!" A loud voice from one of the windows made Olivia look up towards one of the towers, laughing as she spotted Cedric and Oliver practically hanging out the window of one of the classrooms as they waved to her.

"Get b-back here you two! Y-you could f-fall out!" The scolding voice of Professor Quirrell also sounded, and Liv could see the man pulling Oliver and Cedric back into the classroom before closing the window and disappearing from view. And just in time, because Liv heard the voice of Madam Hooch sound only seconds after.
