Now from the moment she joined Hogwarts, Olivia knew that there would be times when their pets were allowed to join them for class. And today's Transfiguration class was one of such. The sides of the classroom were stacked with cages and containers which the animals had occupied on their journey from the dormitories to the classroom. However, by the start of the class many of the students had allowed their animals to freely sit on their desks. Caramel, like the rest, was perched on the edge of Olivia's desk, the Hufflepuff's finger gently scratching her head while she listened to Professor McGonagall speak.

"Could I have your attention, please?" The Transfiguration Professor called out to the class, making their murmuring voices go silent as all turned their attention towards her. "Right. Now, today, we will be transforming animals into water goblets. Like so. One, two, three, Vera verto."

As the Professor announced the lesson and their task, she performed the spell herself, tapping the black and white bird three times with her wand before speaking the spell. It seemed easy enough, and many students watched in awe as the bird transformed into a beautiful goblet, lightly rattling around the risen pedestal before it balanced itself at last. As she watched the goblet stand still, showing no signs of it being an animal only moments before, her hand shot into the air before she could stop herself.

"Yes, Miss Hawthorne?" The Professor's eyes turned to her as she noticed the hand shooting up into the air eagerly.

"The animals can't get hurt, can they? What if we can't transfigure them back?" Professor McGonagall couldn't stop a tiny smile from appearing on her lips. In every generation she taught, whenever this particular lesson came around, there was always at least one student to ask that question. Even beside her, Hope chuckled in amusement as she listened to her friend's question.

"I assure you, your pets will all be back to normal by the end of the class." McGonagall told, not only Olivia, but the whole class. The last thing anyone needed was for students to back out of practicing the spell for the fear of hurting their beloved animals.

"Now it's your turn. Well, who would like to go first? Ah! Mr. Weasley. 'One, two, three. Vera verto.'" McGonagall moved through the class, her eyes first falling on Ron who had his wand in hand while Scabbers roamed over his books on top of the desk.

Silently, Ron moved his wand, counting to three before saying the enchantment and the class watched as his rat now transfigured into a... Furry cup with a swinging tail. This of course, made laughter spread through the room all the while professor McGonagall pointed out the need for Ron to get a new wand. Something Liv was sure he most likely knew since the whole slugs incident.

"Miss Hawthorne, perhaps it'd ease your mind to see the spell performed properly." McGonagall turned to her now, and, while a bit hesitant, Liv did her best to perfectly cast the spell, watching as Caramel turned from and owl into a glass water goblet, streaks of what looked like bronze shining in the light, most likely there because of Caramel's feather colouring.
