For the first time in the last couple of weeks, the Great Hall of Hogwarts was once more in an uproar. The sound of conversing children, all catching up on how they had spent their holidays echoed through the large room. Dinner time was often the loudest in the Great Hall, but now more than before, students had to yell over one another to ensure their friends could hear their fun and exciting narrations of what happened over Christmas.
"What?!" Gwen called to Cedric who had gotten distracted by whatever he saw behind them. This resulted in a decrease of volume in which he was telling her and Olivia about his time visiting relatives in Wales and learning new Quidditch manoeuvres from one of his cousins. While Gwen's voice had startled Cedric out of his trance, Olivia still curiously looked behind her, wondering what it was that had caught Cedric's attention. However, with all three house tables behind her, she soon realized it would be quite hard to locate what it was that had captured her friend's attention.
While she was looking over the hall, something caught her attention too. Although it was quite obvious this was meant to catch her eye. After all the two ginger haired twins waving their hands through the air like two idiots with their eyes focused on her while their family members and friends around them shook their heads in embarrassment was obviously a call to come over.
"Can those two draw any more attention to themselves?" Gwen asked with a shake of her head as she too had noticed the actions of her brother's best friends. Olivia had by now started to understand the slight animosity that Gwen held for Fred and George. Being a shy and reserved person, Gwen wasn't too fond of the attention which came with being in the presence of the Weasley twins.
"I'm gonna go say hi." Olivia informed her two friends. Both Gwen and Cedric nodded their heads in understanding and watched the first year jump from her seat and rush over to the Gryffindor table, navigating through the many other students who were doing the same thing, all wishing to reunite with their friends from other houses.
As she walked over to the part of the Gryffindor table where Fred and George were situated, she could see they were sitting in the company of Oliver, Lee, Ron, Hermione and Harry and was quite happy to see the lot of them again. She had missed Hermione on the train back to Hogwarts, having sat with Susan and Hannah instead. However, Liv knew she had to talk to Hermione as soon as she could. Just as promised Liv had done some research about Nicholas Flamel over the holidays and was happy to say that she found some answers. However, all that could wait for a calmer moment.
Even if she wanted to get to it right away, Olivia wouldn't have been able to. Because as soon as she reached the Gryffindor table and walked to where her friends were sitting she found herself being pulled into a suffocating hug. She let out a small yelp of surprise as her face was met with the chest of the person, but seeing the large letter F stitched into the jumper he wore, Olivia happily hugged Fred back.
"If it isn't my favourite Hufflepuff!" Fred exclaimed dramatically, making Liv let out a small laugh at his dramatics while she pulled away.
"Good to have you back Hawthorne." George said as he walked by them, ready to head back to his seat, but taking a moment to mess up Liv's hair as he passed by her with a wide smile.
