Song of Ash plays/wrote. I own nothing.

I went back into the ops center and we started talking about what we should do with the Cup.

"You can stare at this monitor all you want, they need angel blood to get past the wards, you know that." Jace said. Alec was looking at the monitor for any demons coming near the Institute. Clary put the Cup back in the tarot card.

"No Downworlder can come into the Institute." Jace said. "Not without an invite by a Shadowhunter." I said.

"Last I checked, Valentine is a Shadowhunter. The Cup is not safe here, we have to give it back to the Clave." Alec said.

"Give it back to the Clave? No. Not after everything we went through to get it." Clary said.

"My brother is right. The Cup is extremely important." Izzy said. "Are you agreeing with me?" Alec asked. "I'm full of surprises." Izzy said.

"Ash?" Alec asked. "I'm with you on this, bro." I said. I turned to Clary.

"Clary, stealing a Mortal Instrument to keep it safe, especially the Mortal Cup, that's one thing. But hiding it from the Clave? It's the equivalent to a government offense. The Institute could be charged with high treason." I said.

"This Cup is the one chance I have at getting my mom back." Clary said. "I agree with Clary." Jace said.

"Surprise, surprise." I muttered. "We can't give the Cup to the Clave, now now. We need it, it's our only bargaining chip." Jace said.

"Look I know how powerful this Cup is. It can create new Shadowhunters, control demons and kill a mundane if they drank from it. But I promise you, I will not let that monster get his hands on it." Clary said.

"There you go. You have her word." Jace said. Alec sighed and looked at me. I gave him a 'it's in your hands' look.

"Follow me." he said to Clary. He put the tarot card in the safe that can only be unlocked with his stele.

The monitor started beeping. "Alec?" I called. "What the... huh?" Alec asked. The beeping got more intense and suddenly, the alarm sounded.

We all stood up. "There's something outside the perimeter." I said. "I told you-" "Don't say it." Alec and Jace said.

"What's happening?" Clary asked. "Looks like someone's tryna break in." Izzy said.

"Could be the Circle." I said. "Told you so." Alec said to Jace. "Too soon." Jace replied.

We all went outside to see what the hell was going on. I unglamoured my bow and notched an arrow.

I saw something that looked like a person, holding something. "Don't move!" I called. "Drop what you're holding, put your hands up!" Alec ordered, pulling back his arrow.

The person came into the faint light. It was Raphael, holding Simon's dead body.

"Oh my God, Simon!" Clary shouted. We took them into the cellar of the Institute. No one ever comes down here.

"People will be wondering what we found outside the perimeter." Jace said. "I'll go. I'll tell 'em we didn't find anything." Alec said and went back upstairs.

I was keeping my distance from Raphael. "I might be a vampire, but I was raised a good Catholic." he said and made the Sign of The Cross.

"The vampires breached the Accords. Killing Simon is grounds for war." Izzy said.

"The vampires were not behind this. Just Camille. She attacked Simon on her own." Raphael said.

"How do we know you're telling the truth?!" I spat at him. "I could have gotten rid of him, but instead I brought him here. I don't want trouble with the Shadowhunters." Raphael said.
