Chapter 11: Another Break In

The sun had just started to rise. The twins were still asleep in their comfortable beds. It was hard for Acronix since his arm was broken. He barely got any sleep. But the healing was going way faster than expected. So he finally went to sleep, and stayed asleep. They both woke up at noon.

Krux woke up and he was all congested. He was just feeling like shit. Chris came over. He opened the door.

"Hey babe. You doing alright?" Chris asked.

He didn't respond. Chris walked over and put a hand on his forehead. He immediately pulled his hand away. He got a thermometer and took his temperature. He had a high fever. He checked up on Acronix, who also had a high fever. He gave them some medicine and told them to get up because they're going to the doctor.

.....

Of course. They had the flu. He had them take their medicine and got them back in bed. Chris smiled as he tucked them in. He left notes on each one of their nightstands saying:

"There's Gatorade in the fridge, soup in the pantry with instructions on how to make it, some bread next to the toaster, and a box or two of crackers next to the fridge. Don't  forget to take your medicine and stay hydrated."

But they slept all day. Chris tried calling throughout the day but none of them answered, due to them being asleep.

When they woke up in the morning, they were both feeling like shit. They dragged themselves out of bed and took turns getting in the shower. Chris came over after he got out of work.

"Hey guys. How are you feeling?" Chris asked.

"Like shit." Krux answered.

"Yeah." Acronix said.

"I know it sucks, but you'll be fine." Chris said.

No response from either of them.

"Try to get some more sleep." Chris said.

The twins went to their rooms and went back to sleep.

Kai was even more salty than before. How come they got off so easily? He had an idea in mind. He decided it was time to try something different.

Instead of going after Acronix, why not go after Krux this time? He immediately set out to go back to the apartment building.

Once he got there, he looked up, seeing that there were two windows open on the 7th floor. He made his way up there and climbed through one of the windows, which happened to be the window in Krux's room.

Kai took his sword and went to strike, only to be blocked by Krux shielding himself with a knife under his pillow.

"What. Are. You. Doing. Here?" Krux asked, voice all scratchy and monotone.

"To save Ninjago!" Kai answered.

"You dumb bitch. Do you honestly think killing me would change anything? What are you trying to accomplish? What good do you think you're doing?" Krux asked.

Kai didn't respond.

"Exactly. Now leave." Krux said.

In the other bedroom, Acronix opened one of his eyes. He walked out of his room very quietly and grabbed a knife, before fast forwarding into Krux's room right behind Kai.

"You want to kill my brother?" Acronix asked, voice also scratchy and monotone.

"Where did you come from?" Kai asked, looking behind him.

"Take a wild fucking guess, you little fucking shit." Acronix answered.

Krux slowly got up out of bed and Acronix fast forwarded so he was in front of Kai. They both came at him with knives while he was battling with a sword. The fight continued until Kai's only option was to jump out of the window, which he did. The twins then closed every single window and locked it.

"Why can't justice ever be served?!" Kai asked to no one in particular.

"Because you keep doing it the wrong way." Someone answered.

"Nya!" Kai said.

"Yes. It's me. Now explain." Nya said.

"I tried to serve justice." Kai said.

"By trying to kill Krux this time?" Nya asked.

"Yeah..." Kai replied.

"I know he kidnapped our parents, but you gotta understand that him and Acronix are trying to be good people. Even mom and dad said that. And even Wu." Nya said. "Come on. We're going home."

Kai groaned and followed Nya.

.....

"You have got to be fucking kidding me!" Krux said.

"That is the second fucking time the fucker did that!" Acronix added.

They both groaned in frustration. Chris walked in.

"I'm back from work!" Chris said. He then saw the twins with knives in their hands.

"Someone tried to kill you again?" Chris asked.

"Yes." Krux replied. "Little shit climbed through my window.

"We forced him out of the window though." Acronix said.

"At least you're alright." Chris said.

The twins put the knives down and sat down on the couch, groaning again. They soon fell asleep on the couch and Chris then closed the curtains, shut the lights off, and then put a blanket over the two sleeping twins. He then exited the apartment and shut and locked the door.

"Are you kidding me, Kai?! Why would you do that?!" Jay asked.

"I had to!" Kai replied.

"No, you didn't have to." Cole said.

"There are other ways to go about it. Just like Nya said." Zane said.

"This is why you're not allowed to lead." Lloyd said.

Kai was not amused.

"Wu is going to find out. You can't keep this a secret." Zane said.

"I know. But it's the only way." Kai said.

"You need to find a way to apologize to them just like they found a way to apologize to us." Zane said.

.....

"Apparently your son tried to kill the other one." Wu said.

"You have got to be joking." Ray said.

"Are you serious?" Maya asked.

"Yes I am. We need to do something." Wu said.

The two of them groaned.

"His temper needs to be controlled." Maya said.

"It really does." Ray said.

"You both are right. And we will find a way." Wu said.
