Chapter 19: Sickness

Chris heard the scream and immediately came downstairs, and the kids followed out of curiosity.

"Kids. Do not go in the kitchen." Chris said.

"Dada? Why can't we go in the kitchen? I'm hungry." Noah asked.

"Noah, there is an emergency. I do not want you kids to get hurt." Chris said.

Blaire was silent. She then grabbed Noah by the arm and led him to the couch, and then the both of them sat down.

"I hope everything will be ok." Blaire said.

"Me too." Noah said.

They both jumped when they heard shouting from the kitchen.

"I TOLD YOU ABOUT THE DAMN PLANT, CHRIS!"

"I DIDN'T KNOW THAT YOUR BROTHER WOULD BE STUPID ENOUGH TO CLIMB UP ON THE COUNTER!"

"HE ACTS LIKE A SMALL CHILD SOMETIMES! AND THAT'S WHAT SMALL CHILDREN DO!"

Blaire got up.

"I'm going into the kitchen." Blaire said.

"Dada said not to go in the kitchen." Noah said.

"There is an argument that needs to be settled." Blaire said.

Noah then got up to go stop her. They stood in the kitchen doorway.

"This whole argument is over a plant?" Blaire asked.

"Kids! I told you to stay out of the kitchen!" Chris said.

"Chris. My brother's life is on the line. He has a better chance of surviving than I did. AND IT'S ALL BECAUSE IF THAT FAMN PLANT!" Krux said.

Acronix slowly stood up, legs shaking and head spinning. He wanted to throw up. He took a few steps before falling again. Krux then picked him up off of the floor and took him upstairs to his room, where he will sit with him.

Chris felt bad about the argument. There was a life on the line.

"What's wrong with uncle Nix?" Blaire asked.

"He's not in a good state right now. He got that infection that your father got when he was about your age. Don't touch the plant. It will kill the elderly and children immediately, and it'll be a miracle if they live..." Chris replied.

The children had tears in their eyes.

Two days have passed and they sent Acronix to the hospital, as the sickness was getting worse and worse. No matter what they did for the mark, it will always be there and will keep growing until he dies from the infection. Everyone came to see him.

"Is he going to be alright?" Cyrus asked.

"It's either life or death. He is an adult, so he has a higher survival chance." The doctor said.

Pixal also looked sad.
Krux was in literal tears.
Chris was upset and he felt guilty.
Blaire and Noah were also crying.
And Cyrus felt himself beginning to cry.

Day number three.
The day before death in most cases. In some cases it's day five.
Everyone was either upset, or crying. Krux was affected by it the most. It's his brother! The one that he loves more than anything in the world! He already had a suicide note written, just in case if he died.

Day number five.
This is it.
Death day.
The doctor came out of the room with news.

"I have good news and and bad news." The doctor said.

"He's dead, isn't he?!" Krux said.

"Actually...he's not dead. He's got a steady heartbeat, a pulse, no fever, and is now alert and aware of his surroundings." The doctor said.

Everyone was smiling.

"We don't know what the psychological effects are going to be." The doctor said.

"It's gonna be aggression and then some sort of psychological effect, I've had the infection as a child and survived because of a miracle." Krux said.

"You may enter the room." The doctor said.

Everyone entered the room and Krux immediately hugged Acronix.

"Is this how you felt when you were sick?" Acronix asked.

"Is this how you felt when I was sick?" Krux asked.

They both smiled.

"If you're going to get aggressive, take it out on fire bitch, not me." Krux said.

"The little shit deserves it!" Acronix said.

They now have matching marks.

Wu was somehow informed of this and talked to Kai.

"Whatever happens, it's not his fault. It's the infection that is doing this to him." Wu said.

Kai was now scared. And everyone else was now informed. Kai was extra scared.
After everything he's done to the twins, he was gonna get it once he's being hunted down by Acronix.

"Kai. Prepare for battle. He's not going to forget what you've done. And he has no control over it, so get ready." Wu said.

"He won't show any mercy." Nya said.

"I'll be here as backup just in case if anything gets out of hand." Zane said.

"Who's going to monitor this? I don't wanna be dragged into it..." Jay asked.

"I can monitor it. Maybe hold one of them back if they do end up battling it out here." Cole said.

"Kai. You need to prepare ASAP. Do as Wu said and listen to what he said. Don't take this as a voluntary thing, it's not in his control." Lloyd said.

"Does he even know that I'm here at the moment?" Kai asked.

"Probably. Remember, you can do this." Maya said.

"We're here for you, Kai." Ray said.

"I'll be in this with you too." Nya said.

"Thank you guys." Kai said.

Some time has passed. There was some sounds that were being made.

"Did you hear that?" Nya asked.

"It sounded like...oh no." Wu said.

"What?" Kai asked.

"Kai. Go outside." Wu replied.

"Why?" Kai asked.

"It's either fight now, or be stuck inside for a couple of days." Wu replied.

Kai and the others immediately went outside. A figure was standing on the roof.
The armor with the gray sleeve on the right arm.
The hood.
The eyes.

"Oh." Kai said. "This is not good."

"Surprise! I HAVE A GUN!" Acronix said, aiming the gun.

Everyone was internally panicking.

Acronix has a gun.

"...we're all fucked." Nya said.

"Acronix. Please do not put holes in my monestary." Wu said.

Acronix pulled the trigger and shot Kai in the arm.

"FUCKING PISS!" Kai shouted.

He then got shot in the leg.

"YA DAMN LUCKY I DIDN'T SHOOT HIM IN THE HEAD!" Acronix said.

Ray and Maya actually looked genuinely scared.
Soon, Acronix dropped the empty gun, dropped to his knees, and soon fell off the roof. Wu caught him before he hit the ground.

He then took him inside.
