Chapter 9: Mentally Hurting

The sun was rising and Chris got up and took a shower. After that, he laid down next to Krux, who was still asleep. He wrapped his arms around his waist. Acronix was still dead asleep in his room. Krux was waking up from sleep.

"Morning sunshine." Chris said, quietly.

He kissed the top of his head before letting go and getting up.

"I need to go get dressed for work. I'll be back." Chris said, still in that quiet voice.

Krux closed his eyes again and went right back to sleep. Chris went to go get his clothes and get dressed in the bathroom. Once he got his clothes, he tried to open he door, only for it to be locked. He checked on Krux, who was asleep, and then looked in Acronix's room. He wasn't there.

He knocked on the door.

"Acronix? Are you alright?" Chris asked.

He was throwing up. But at the same time, he was also self harming. Chris decided to get dressed in the living room, only to hear another door shut and lock. He went over to it.

"Babe? You good?" Chris asked.

He then saw Acronix walking out of the bathroom and back into his bedroom, he had a sweater on. Krux soon unlocked his door. Chris entered. He saw that he had a long sleeve shirt on. He saw blood on the nightstand. He immediately rolled down the sleeves. He gasped.

"What did you do to yourself?!" Chris asked, shocked.

"...what's the point...of living in a society...where everyone hates you?..." Krux answered.

"I don't hate you! I don't hate your brother either!" Chris said as he started to patch him up.

He then checked for any cuts on Acronix. There are cuts, but it's much worse. He did the same thing. He got both of the twins on the couch.

"I don't hate either of you. I want you both to be happy and to take care of yourselves." Chris said.

He then called his boss explaining that he needed to bring his boyfriend to work with him so he could keep an eye on him. He also got permission to bring Acronix too. He then got the twins dressed in some clothing suitable for a work environment and then left with them, shutting and locking the door behind the three of them.

Once they got there, they took the elevator up to the floor where Chris worked. He took Krux to his work area and pulled out a chair and had him sit down. Acronix on the other hand, took the elevator up further. He exited and then found a place to sit down.

"Kai. What you did was not ok." Nya said.

"Wu has already decided your punishment for breaking the rules." Jay said.

Kai was extremely salty. Wu then came out.

"Kai. You will be restricted to your room for about a month during free time. No video games, no missions with the others, nothing. Only chores and training." Wu said. "Oh! And apology letters to everyone who lived in that village. And two well thought out apology letters for the twins."

"...looks are deceiving." Kai said.

"I know, Kai. But I talked to them recently and they have no intention on attacking. They're scared, confused, and a bit sad." Wu said before leaving.

Kai was not happy. He went to his room.

Acronix sat there until Cyrus noticed him. He got startled a little.

"Acronix! How long have you actually been there?" Cyrus asked.

"Long enough." Acronix answered, his voice low and monotone.

"Are you alright?" Cyrus asked.

Acronix rolled his sleeves down and took off the bandages, revealing a ton of scars, some of which still haven't scarred up yet, and were still bleeding. He gasped and went over to him, pulling him into his lap and comforting him.

"...I'm sorry..." Acronix said.

"For what?" Cyrus asked.

"...the past...existing...everything....." Acronix answered.

"You and your brother are trying to be good people, and I get that. But you have nothing to be sorry for in terms of existing. And the past is in the past." Cyrus said.

"It is but..." Acronix started to say before trailing off.

"But what?" Cyrus asked.

"...I don't know anymore..." Acronix answered.

He held him close to him and gave him a couple of kisses.

.....

"It's going to be alright. You're safe. I'll ensure that you're safe." Chris said.

"...ok..." Krux said.

"No, I'm serious babe. You're going to be ok." Chris said.

Krux didn't respond. He played with his fingers, looking down at the ground. Chris kissed him on his head.

"You're going to be alright." Chris said.

"...if you say so..." Krux said.

.....

He started to cry.

"Acronix. Don't cry. You're going to be alright. You have people that care about you." Cyrus said.

He wiped the tears from his eyes and gave him a kiss on the cheek. Acronix eventually fell asleep. Cyrus just sat there, with a sleeping Acronix in his arms. He couldn't go back to doing work.

The work day ended and Chris took Krux home. Acronix wasn't with them, as he was with Cyrus still. Chris received a call.

"Hello?"

"Um, sure! I'll be right there."

"Goodbye."

Chris hung up the phone. He turned to Krux, who was asleep. He got his partner ready for bed and tucked him in, kissed his forehead, closed the door a little and then left to go retrieve Acronix.

Once he was home, he did the same thing with Acronix and instead of giving him a kiss, he ruffled his hair a little.

He then left the apartment, shut and locked the door, then went to his own apartment and got ready for bed himself.

"How are those letters going?" Nya asked.

"Fine, I guess." Kai answered.

"How many have you got done?" Nya asked.

"Five." Kai answered.

"You still have two hundred forty seven to go!" Nya said.

Kai groaned.

"You did this to yourself." Nya said, walking away.
