Chapter 12: An Explanation

Days have passed and the twins were feeling better. They were back on their feet and were able to go about their daily routine.

Days have passed and Kai received an even worse punishment. It seems like the more he breaks the rules, the worse the punishment gets.

Acronix decided to head out and go see someone. Chris has the day off and was over, getting all lovey dovey with Krux. So he exited the apartment and went out into the city, not receiving death threats or getting dirty looks. He went to where he was going.

Cyrus was working on what he had to work on, and didn't even notice the elevator door opening. Only then he noticed when there was a small kiss on his cheek.

"Missed me?"

"Acronix! Yes, I did." Cyrus said.

He pulled a chair up and sat down.

"What are you working on?" Acronix asked.

"The usual." Cyrus answered.

He put his head on his shoulder. Cyrus blushed.

"I love you." Acronix said.

"I love you too, Acronix." Cyrus said.

Some time had passed and the two were now kissing. They were happy just being near each other. They kept kissing.

Meanwhile, Chris and Krux were doing you know what.

Kai sat in his room, sick. He caught what illness the twins had. Everyone was busy with missions and stuff, but they made time to get him what medicine he needed to get over this sickness. He was not feeling well at all. He is probably going to be like this for a couple of days, but it won't stop him from serving justice.

Kai got out of bed and snuck out of his room, and then left, going to find the twins.

It was time for a lunch break. Cyrus and Acronix went to the local cafe for lunch. They had some good laughs and some good food. And the best part is that it was like a date, but not a date. Acronix actually felt happy for once in his life. Cyrus took note of how happy Acronix is.

Acronix finally returned home after a nice day. He saw a box of crackers when he walked into the kitchen. He grabbed the box, sat on the counter, and started to eat. He then decided to eat them obnoxiously. A door opened and Krux walked into the kitchen, along with Chris.

"Are you fucking serious? You did this when we were executing the plan." Krux said.

"And?" Acronix asked.

"It's annoying." Krux replied.

"AND? Your point is?" Acronix asked.

"Stop." Krux answered.

Chris was hella confused but decided to question it later. No. He decided to question it now.

"What plan?" Chris asked.

"Break up with me if you want after I tell you this. I know you'll hate me..." Krux said.

"I just wanna know." Chris said.

"Basically, we got our powers taken away because we tried to take over the world. We went after the Time Blades, I got out of the temporal vortex, got pissy, kidnapped the parents of two young children, and then waited. Once he returned, we had some vermillion warriors ready for action and captured people and pretty much forced them to work. We then got the Time Blades, went back in time, fought the battle we lost, and then got stuck in the vortex." Krux explained.

"So it was a revenge plan?" Chris asked.

"Yes." Krux replied.

He didn't feel so good after sharing that.

"Are you ok, babe?" Chris asked.

Something was triggered. He felt like everything was starting to fall apart again. His breathing picked up and his heart started to beat faster. He fell onto his knees.

"Babe? Do you need any help? Are you alright?" Chris asked.

He started hyperventilating.
Acronix was staring into space, with a look of fear in his eyes.
Chris got a glass of water and put it on the counter, after removing Acronix from the counter.

"Ok babe. Take deep breaths." Chris said.

Krux was incapable of doing that right now. There was tears in his eyes. Chris was patting his back, assuring him that everything was going to be fine.

"Everything will be fine. Try to take deep breaths, and calm down." Chris said, in a calm voice.

"I...I can't! You don't even know how hard it is to forget and move on! You don't understand my situation!" Krux said.

Acronix went into his bedroom and started crying. Chris didn't know what to do or how to help. Krux started coughing heavily. Chris got the glass of water and gave it to him, having him take small sips.

"You're alright." Chris said.

It took about two hours but both of the twins calmed down. Acronix cried himself to sleep. Krux passed out. Chris tucked both of the twins in and then curled up next to Krux. He stroked his hair. His soft, black hair that had a pleasant scent.

"Sweet dreams babe." Chris whispered.

He kissed his head.

"I love you."

Kai was back out into the city. He was determined to find the twins. He needed to. Even though the others wouldn't let him, he will do it anyway. He went to go find Cyrus Borg, hoping he would have information on where the twins are.

"Do you know where they are?" Kai asked.

"Who?" Cyrus asked.

"The Hands of Time." Kai replied. "Where are they?"

"I do not know where they are. I would tell you if I knew." Cyrus said.

Kai simply nodded and then left.

Kai had a feeling that he knew where they are, but didn't tell him. But for what reasons? A threat? Protection? Or maybe even romance reasons. Whatever it is, he needs to know. He went back to the apartment building, which is where the twins were last seen, hoping that they are still living there.

Kai made his way up to 709r, which is where the twins were last living at. He wasn't sure if the moved or not. Kai picked the lock and entered, locking the door behind him. They were still here. He knew that he was going to succeed this time in taking them down. Someone opened a door.

Acronix left his room, saw Kai, and screamed. That alerted Krux and Chris.

Kai fucked up.
