BONFIRE NIGHT was one of the best parts of high school. It was a night where all the teenagers got drunk, made out with everyone, and for the seniors, got to celebrate their last year at school and their first look at a new future. Jack planned on getting drunk with Maxine after he apologized for last night. He felt so stupid, any other guy would've done it in the classroom but he was too sentimental, he felt stupid for wanting it special.

He'd tried texting her multiple times but it was clear the only way he'd be able to apologize would be in person, tonight. So here Jack Frostlin was, walking toward his girlfriend who was talking to a group of guys, though he knew she was only trying to make him jealous. She knew what she wanted when she wanted it, and who she wanted. If she wanted him jealous, he'd get jealous, if she wanted him to lose it to her, he would probably end up doing so.

Jack tapped her shoulder, shivering as the wind blew his hair. "Max, can we talk for a second?" he asked pulling her away from the group. She crossed her arms as they walked into a secluded section of the woods. "Can we talk about last night?" he added.

Maxine looked away for a moment and then nodded, "I guess, yeah" she answered quietly, which was weird to see.

Jack cleared his throat, "I'm really sorry. Max-god I love you so much but I wasn't ready. And I'm sorry I wasn't. You know I love you, you know I'd do anything-"

"-Just not lose your virginity with me" She cut off, licking her chapped lips. "J, I get it. You love me, just not enough to lose it with me" she put words in his mouth.

Jack furrowed his brows and shook his head, "No, oh my god, no. I-I want to lose it with you, Max. I really do. . .just not in a geography classroom on my senior prank night," he explained, stepping closer to her and pushing hair behind her ear. "I want to take you out, get some rich people food, take you to my house when no one is home, have rose petals leading up to the room with candles lit and any other cheesy stereotypical love setup you've seen. Because I love you too much to ruin our love and let it burn out" he bantered, softly stroking her cheek.

Maxine smiled, a tear falling that he wiped away. "I-I've never had someone love me that much" she sighed, "I'm really sorry about last night. I shouldn't have left and you shouldn't feel pressured to do something you don't want to with me. Plus I heard everything that happened last night and I really wish I never left you," she wept vulnerably.

Jack nodded, "Yeah I lot happened last night. . . so we're okay?" he asked.

Max laughed, "Yes, we're okay" she answered hugging him and then pecking him on the lips, "Now, why don't I get us some drinks and we get drunk, hm?" she offered.

Jack gasped, "Uh, you know me so well. That sounds amazing" he replied sending her a heart with his hands while she walked back to the main spot lit up with buzzing teenagers and action.

He turned around sighing, kicking a rock or twig in front of him while he walked around. He seriously loved bonfire's, and a weight felt lifted off of him now that he and Max were okay. He felt, normal, for once.

"I'm curious about you," Rebekah said from behind him, she stood tall. He turned around and then she vamp-sped to his face, her iris's widening. "Tell me, when did you come to Mystic Falls?" she compelled.

Jack was unable to withstand the compulsion, his eyes widened, mouth ajar. "Six years ago" he stated, no control, no thoughts, nothing.

Rebekah sighed, placing her arms on his shoulders, "And why did you come?" she asked. Jack stayed silent, he had no answer because he himself didn't know why or how he came to Mystic Falls, in fact, he couldn't remember anything before the age of twelve. "Hm, how did you come to Mystic Falls" she corrected.

He stared blankly into her eyes, his mind buzzing. "I woke up in a lake, everything I touched turned to ice and I couldn't remember where I came from. Caroline and her mom found me wandering in the forest" he said numbly.

Rebekah almost took a step back, feeling weird about this boy. "Who are your parents," she asked, trying to get more information, she knew he wasn't lying but his story couldn't be true, she dreamed of that very scenario over a hundred times while asleep in her coffin, how though?

"I don't know" He replied slowly.

Rebekah shook her head, "What did you remember?".

"Nothing," Jack said calmly, his eyes looking at nothing.

"How did you remember your name then!" Rebekah yelled a bit louder, getting frustrated with the boy. His story couldn't add up, it couldn't be real, it was too much of a tale you'd hear in a book.

"I didn't, Caroline named me Jack Frost because she found out about my powers, I didn't get it until she made me watch a movie" he answered truthfully. It was quite embarrassing when he realized the similarities between himself and the cartoon boy.

Rebekah paused, looking at the scar on his neck. "How'd you get that?" she asked pointing to his neck. The bite from what seemed to be a werewolf was still there. It immediately reminded her of Henrik, in fact, thinking of werewolves normally reminded her of her brother's tragedy.

Jack shook his head, "I don't know. It hurt that night, it was bleeding along with my chest" he said monotoned.

"God this is getting nowhere" Rebekah muttered, looking behind her for a moment. Then she looked him in the eyes again, "You will forget ever seeing me tonight, you won't remember this conversation all you'll remember is waiting in the woods for your girl toy to bring you drinks" she compelled, and within a blink; she was gone.
