chapter eight
( the frost )★☆
THE NEXT day Jack found himself meeting up with Bonnie and Caroline in some old abandoned building witches had died in. The same witches that helped Bonnie bring Jeremy back to life and take away Vicki's power to harm anybody. Why they needed Jack's helped, he didn't know. All he knew was how awkward it would be when he saw Caroline today.
The building was made out of bricks that had been rotting away, trees and plants outside it shriveling up. He walked through the front door and found himself walking down the stairs into the cellar looking basement, "Hey so what exactly are we-" he began.
Caroline shushed him, "Bonnie's doing some witchy spell and needs silence" she explained. He looked at the witch and realized she was sitting on the floor, grimoire in front of her and soft mutterings of the spell. "Hey, listen, about last night. . ." She whispered.
Jack raised his hand telling her to stop, "About last night, we don't need to talk about what I saw. What you do in your free time is your own business. . .I just wish I hadn't walked in on. . .that" he admitted awkwardly.
Caroline nodded, "Point taken. From now on I won't do anything in our house and I'll make sure you'll be nowhere nearby" she promised, holding out her pinky. Jack raised his and the two pinky swore, it was the only way the two know one another truly meant what they were saying and weren't lying.
Suddenly the leaves picked up, a breeze blowing Bonnie's hair out of her face. The entire building rattled, and then the candles went out. Her chanting got louder and louder, more powerful the longer she went.
"Bonnie. . ." Caroline said before stopping. Suddenly it wasn't just the three of them in the building, Bonnie had her hands linked with her grandma, the woman who had been dead for a while now. "Oh my god. . .is that your?" she asked.
Bonnie's face looked shocked, "Grams?" she called out, looking the older woman in the eyes. "I can't believe you're here!" she said through tears.
Grams smiled, staring at her granddaughter before glancing at Caroline and Jack. "Now stop your crying, we don't have time for tears. Nice to see you again, Caroline" she looked him up and down almost in disgust. "Jack" she added disgracefully.
Caroline laughed in disbelief, "Hi, miss Sheila" she greeted sheepishly.
"A fine mess you've made, honey. The witches told you there'd be consequences to bringing Jeremy back and you did it anyway" Grams reminded.
