SOMEHOW IT was now the night of the school dance. And Jack was being forced to go. But not just by Rebekah, but now Jaime too.

He had always dread high school dances, something about hundreds of students all trapped in the same room, sweating, reeking of body odour, plus no alcohol just didn't sit right with him.

Yet here he was redoing his tie for the hundredth time. He really didn't feel like calling Rebekah in here to do it for him again. He was filled with enough panic about his family finding out he was going to the dance with a boy.

Deep down he knew they most likely would support him, but covering the sane, rastional voice was fear telling him they wouldn't get it, and they'd hate him for it. He knew he was overreacting but the last few days had been both the happiest and most confusing days of his life.

"Jack, you ready to go soon?" Rebekah called out from the hallway. His door was open so he could see her wearing a gorgeous frilly white dress, a pear necklace on her with her hair pinned up.

"Yeah, just a sec!" he yelled back although she could've heard him even if he whispered.

He was dressed in a white suit with a floral print on it. Rebekah had insisted on him wearing something entirely different including suspenders, but the teenager had refused to wear it. Insisting he looked silly.

Rebekah gasped and walked into his room without asking. "You need help with your tie again don't you?" she asked laughing, "Come over here" she ordered before he could say anything.

Jack turned to face Rebekah as she began working on his knotted tie. "Look, Bekah" he said holding his hand up to stop here from continuing. "I need to tell you guys something but if there's anyone out of this family I think won't be mad, it's you" he admitted.

She nodded, urging him to continue. He sat on his bed and patted for her to sit next to him to. "I'm sure you've noticed I've been happier lately" he said shyly.

Rebekah smiled warmly, "Is this about a girl? have you met someone new?" she asked curiously.

Jack could feel his face fall at her assumption of it being a girl. He didn't know how to say these words. But he needed to tell someone, someone would see them tonight being closer then just friends.

He huffed out and then looked away for a moment. "I met someone, but it's actually a guy" he slowly whispered out, knowing she'd be able to hear him either way.

Rebekah's face stayed the same for a moment, and then an even bigger smile took place on her face. "Jack" she finally said, making him look at her. "You know we support you no matter what gender you're into. That doesn't matter to us" said assured.
