Calum Hood, the football star of my highschool. I have only spoken about 10 words to him since the first day of school freshman year. This year, Jr. year, he is in most of my classes.
Being a normal teenage girl, I have a crush on him. It's nice seeing him everyday, but I'm under pressure to not make a fool of myself during class or look bad.
Third period ends with a loud ring of the bell. I grab my stuff and hurry out the door. i make my way to my locker. Lindsey, my best friend, walks over to me.
"Are you going to the football game?" I shake my head no "C'mon Lilly. It's the first game of the year!" She says.
"Yeah, c'mon Lilly! It'll be fun." Calum says, opening his locker next to me. Caught off guard, I just laugh, turning to him.
"Are you planning on playing good?" I ask, smirking at him
"Hell yeah. Expecially if you're there." He says with a wink, shutting his locker and walking down the hall. I turn to Lindsey and her jaw on the floor.
"Shut you mouth honey, you look like a trout." I say, walking past her with enough confidence to power 8 suns.
-After School-
I make my way over to my car. We decided to go get food then come back for the game. As I'm walking, i hear someone call out my name from behind me. I turn around and see Calum jogging up to me. Once he reaches me, he walks next to me through the parking lot.
"So did you decide on coming to the game?" He asks
"Yeah I am actually. Just grabbign some food before coming back to watch you guys win."
"I'll make sure we win tonight." He says, sliding his hands into his pockets. "Hey so i was wondering if you were free after the game?" I wanted to gasp or cry or i don't know. I never ever ever though Calum Hood would be asking me what i was doing after a football game.
"Um yeah... what do you have in mind?"
"Well the team always throws a celebration party after we win a game... so i was wondering if you want to come? You can bring your friends and stuff." He says and i nodd
"Sounds really fun actually." I say and he laughs.
"Yeah I'll be there, so you should come. We can hangout and become better friends." He says and I finally reach my car, unlocking it and opening my door.
"I'll be there." i smile as i climb into my car.
After me and Lindsey got some food, we headed back to school. We bought our tickets and headed inside. We found spots down in the student section, where everyone was decked out in black and white, our school colors.
"So let me get this straight, Calum invited you to the party?" She asks for the 15th time tonight.
"Yes! I know it sounds crazy but don't be rude about it." I laugh as the game starts. We have the ball first. I look out and see Calum squating behind the center.
"Blue 42, set, HUT!" He calls out as the center throws under his legs to Calum. I watch him look around the field, then throw the ball all the way down the field to someone who catches it, but gets smashed from the side.
The last 10 seconds and it still nothing to nothing. I find myself screaming at the players along with everyone else. Lindsey couldn't care less. I look at her and she's on her phone, sitting down. I look back to the crowd and see Calum making eye contact. I smile and he smiles back, before squatting down to call the last play. My heart is thumping and i think it's gonna burst if we don't score a touchdown. Calum yells hut and i start screaming.
Calum fakes a hand off. He fools everyone but me. Everyones eyes are on the other kid who is running down the sidelines, the other players following. I watch as Calum takes off down the other sideline, farthest from us. Once he is halfway down the field everyone catches on. I start yelling at the top of my lungs. A player comes in hot, but Calum jumps and the guy dives off the field in to the side, Calum still going. Another comes, but he ducks and the guy flys over him. With every player he dodges, i scream louder. He's only 10 yards away and the only players close enough to get him are coming in hot. Just as we think the other player might get him, he hits some other gear in his legs and starts running faster. His foot steps over the line and everyone, even Lindsey screams and jumps into the air.
All the parents are hooting and hollering, but the students all run onto the field. I ditch Lindsey and run to where Calum is. He sees me coming, because I'm sprinting towards him. I get to him and slow down a bit, but i'm still jogging. He opens his arms and i run into them. He hugs me tightly before everyone else gets to him and everyone is congradulating him and he just keeps one hand draped over the small of my back.
After everyone settles down he turns to me and i smile
"You made the winning touchdown!" I say and he smiles, nodding.
"I told you I would win for you." he says and i feel like kissing him
"How did you dodge those people like that?"
"I was thinking of winning and seeing you run to me like you just did." He says and i flush
"You really like to flirt don't you?" I ask and he takes a step towards me, making my heart beat a million times per second.
"I really like you. Always have..." He says and places a hand on my cheek. He leans down and presses his lips to mine. My hands grap his hips and pull him closer.
Tonight was seriosuly one from a movie.
