Amy's pov

I'm so stupid! I didn't grab the key! I need to go back to the house.

"Abbie, I need to leave again." I grabbed my hoodie.

"I wanna go."

"No, I need you to stay here, those bad people don't know about this treehouse. This is the safest place for you."

"But."

"No buts. Abagail. I love you and I can't lose you to these mean people. Stay here I will be right back."

She nodded her head then went back to her homework. She thinks she is going to go back to school but I don't think she will. I am
Going to have to home school her.

"I love you," I said to her.

"I love you too." She smiled at me.

I rushed out of the treehouse and back to the house, I don't have to worry about anyone seeing me because everyone is at work right now. I climbed back up the ladder and onto the house.

They came back.

Things have been messed with.

I need to be careful with what I touch.

I run around the house looking for this freaking key! It's not in any of the areas dads told me it would be. What the fuck!

"Okay, think like dad, if I wanted to keep something safe were would I put it."

I thought for a few minutes then it hit me. I rushed to him but stopped when I was standing next to him.

"Dad I know you wanted to keep it safe but you could have stuck it under the table with gum."

I kneeled down and opened his hand, found it.

"Thanks, dad for keeping it safe. I promise to keep Abbie safe. I will get her to a safe house. Even if we have to fake our own death."

I put the key in my pocket then started to head out when I realized I forgot something else. I ran to Abbie's room, thank god they left her room untouched. I grabbed her favorite dolly from her bed and stuffed it in my hoodie pocket. Grandma made this for her on her 1st birthday and she loves it. This should help her relax a little. I grabbed the stack of cash I have hidden in my room and left.

"Abbie?" I asked as I opened the treehouse door.

"I'm here." She was on the other side of the treehouse.

"I got you something." I smiled pulling her dolly out of my pocket.

Her eyes lit up.

"You found her!" She rushed over and hugged it.

"I am so sorry that I forgot her last night, but now you have her. I also had to get a key, this key opens up a lock to a car for us. Dad was holding onto this car for me when I graduated high school but we are going to need to take this car to get to our next stop."

"How far away is it?"

"A few blocks in the storage area, you are going to come with me and we are just going to head out. Remember how I told you about being sneaky?"

"Yeah."

I handed her a black beanie.

"I will wear mine too but we need these on. It will hide our face and make the bad guys do more work to see us."

"It's going to mess up my hair." She pouted.

"We will rock the messy hair together how does that sound?"
