Mark's pov

Once Tyler was asleep, I snuck out of the RV and walked down to the shelter.

"Look who it is." Hannah said as I got to the front door.

"Hello."

"Let me guess, the two girls that just came in?"

"Yeah, a gang killed their parents and now wants them dead."

She nodded.

"I need to speak to them." I looked away.

"What did you do?" She sounded annoyed.

"I want to go after them but she doesn't want me to."

"I told you, this is what happens when you let your heart take over for your brain." She shook her head.

"I need to make this right."

"Go." She opened the door for me, "I put them in the same apartment as the other girls you save."

"You do know that this is my first time I am in this building, right?"

"Oh, okay, then I will take you to them."

I followed her down the hallway, everyone was in their apartments sleeping so the hallways are quiet. When we got to her door, Hannah walked away. I knocked waiting for her to open the door.

Her footsteps were light but I was able to hear her walk to the door. After a few seconds the door flew open and she grabbed my arm, pulling me into the apartment.

"Are you crazy?" She asked me, locking the door behind me.

"Most likey."

"There are no visitors right now, how did you get in?"

"Remember how I told you that there are others who I have hidden from the law?" I looked around the room, "This is where I send them." I looked back at her. "Hannah hides them until I can get their case to go away."

Amy backed up a few steps.

"Nothing like that, I promise. This is the time I have even been in the building. I will meet Hannah at the coffee shop down the street. I promise."

Her eyes started to water.

"Hannah had to show me where you are. She left as I was knocking. I promise, Amy, please."

"I swear, Mark, if you are playing me or using me, I will end your life." Her voice was quiet but stern.

I walked to her, pushing her against the wall. One hand was on her waist and the other was in her hair. I pulled her in, kissing her. Her body relaxed as she melted underneath me.

"I promise I am not using or playing you." I said and went back kissing her. Her hands landed on my body, pulling me closer to her.

"Mark and Amy sitting in a tree." Abbie started to sing which made us jump. "K I S S I N G."

"Hi to you too, Abbie." I said, laughing.

"Abbie, you are to be in bed." Amy said. I still had her body pressed against the wall.

"I can't sleep."

"Would you like me to read you a bedtime story?" I asked.

"Would you?" She perked up.

I let my hands fall from Amy and walked over to Abbie, "Let's see what books we have here and I will read to you." I said.

Abbie ran into her room, once she found a book from the box she handed it to me.
