Amy's pov

"You don't need to do this." Mark said as I got ready to leave.

"I need to talk to him. Once he sees that it's me, he will call off the gang."

"Do you really think that?"

"No, but I am hopeful. Are you sure that this daycare is safe for Abbie?" I looked at him.

"Yes."

"I am holding you to that." I walked away from him.

"I am more worried about Soran than a daycare."

"Well, I am worried about both."

"Well if we want to meet him, we need to leave now. He will be waiting for us. Well, me, but you will be there too."

I nodded my head and followed him to the car. I kept tugging on my jacket.

"Everything is going to be okay." Mark said.

"I know, I am just thinking of everything that can go wrong."

"Don't do that."

"Easier said than done."

I looked out the window, trying to clear my mind of all the horrible things, but they kept coming back.

"Are you sure that the daycare is safe?" I looked at him.

"Yes."

"Are you sure, sure?"

"Amy, relax! You are going to give yourself a heart attack."

"I promised mom and dad that I would keep Abbie safe."

"And she is, this place is totally hidden from everyone and she will be able to make some more friends."

I took a deep breath. I need to calm dow,n but the fact that Abbie is not in my sight is freaking me out. I need her here so I know she is safe.

"I am sorry." I said,

"It's okay, I know you have a lot on your plate. But you are not fighting this alone. Not anymore."

"Thank you." I smiled weakly as I opened my eyes.

I didn't say anything for the rest of the ride, I need to relax before I face Soran.

"Let's do this." Mark said as he pulled into a parking spot.

He wrapped his arm around my waist pulling me close to him, we need to look like a real couple. Not a couple who wants to be with one another but can't because the female is scared shitless to let anyone in.

"I got you." he said as he kissed the top of my head.

When we got into the restaurant, we walked past everyone who was waiting to be seated. We knew where we needed to go.  A few waitresses tried to stop us but we kept going, once we hit the "party" room, Mark knocked on the door.

"Come in."  His voice sounded like he was inhaling a cigar.

I took a deep breath then followed Mark walking in.

"Mark, it is so good to see you again." The same raspy voice said.

I felt their eyes on me.

"Amy?"

"Mr. Soran, how are you?" I asked in a falsely strong voice.

"I haven't seen you in years, how are your parents?"

"Dead."

His curled lips flatted.

"Oh, Amy I am so sorry. How did this happen?"
