Mark's POV

"Why didn't you grab them?" Mickey barked through the walky tally.

"There is nothing on them, all we know is that the oldest knows her parents are dead and that they are next. The youngest knows nothing and it playing along." I rolled my eyes.

"You need to bring them in, she knows something."

"Look, I am handling this. You just shut up and let me do my job."

"Hey hard ass, remember who your boss is."

"And remember who is following a scared teenage girl and her clues kid sister while you are at home chugging booze on your cheap ass couch."

"Easy boys." Melissa said, "both of you need to relax and keep your eye on the mission here. That little girl is in danger."

"What about the oldest?" I asked.

"She has been trained since a little kid on how to take people down. You have seen it first hand how she has gotten her sister here." Melissa said.

"She is intelligent, but she is also scared. Look I'm turning the walky off."

I took the battery out of the walky and threw it on the passenger seat.

I looked up and saw Tyler walking to me, I rolled my window down.

"Where the hell is she going?" He asked.

"The old safe house behind the barn."

"You mean the one that we took over 10 years ago?"

"Yep, she has no idea that she taking her sister to us."

"Which means her parents did actually get out of the gang."

"I need to tell her, you know what they are going to do to her when she pulls up thinking they are safe."

"Yeah, they will rip the little girl away from her and demand her to tell them everything. If she thinks the barn is still the safe house then her information is useless."

"Did you bring the car?"

"Yeah, new clothes and some food as well."

"Thanks. If I follow them in a police car she will get suspicious. She bought a bunch of school books for the little girl."

"She wants her to keep her education going. Did you hear Mathew's plan?"

"No."

"He wants you to bait the kid to come with you, once you have the kid she will do anything."

"Fuck that! I'm not holding a child hostage. He has lost his fucking mind."

"Well, you need to change and get back to work before boss loses his mind."

"Thanks."

He handed me the keys then walked away. He has a copy of my cop car keys and will get in it later and drive it back to the station. I got all of my stuff out and went into the store and changed. When I came out I got into the car Tyler drove up here.

"Okay, let's see what I can find."

I pulled my laptop out and googled the Nelson family. I need to know who I am protecting.

There was a bunch of links that popped up all from 8 years ago. I clicked on the first one.

Nelson duo robbed a delivery driver at gunpoint with their 4-year-old daughter watching.

"that's not good parenting."

I backed out and clicked on the next link.

The Nelson duo has been reported to be working with the Mifa gang. Talks about having their children become the newest, youngest members.
