Annika's POV
"It's going to hurt for a little while." Hades says. I cringe at the thought and shake my head.

"How bad?"

"Honest truth?" He asks looking at me over his shoulder.

"Honest to the Gods."

"Like a bitch, but it'll only be for five seconds tops I promise." He turns back around to doing whatever he was doing in the kitchen. probably stealing cookies. I walk back into the dining room and sit next to my mother. Aphrodite.

"I'm gonna miss you mom." I say leaning my head against her shoulder. I feel her head rest against mine softly and a small hum comes from the back of her throat.

"You'll see me in Olympus real soon Annika. I promise."

"There's a lot of promises going on tonight." I mumble under my breath.

"What was that?"

"Nothing mom, but I was just wondering do you have something I could change into? Maybe sweatpants?" I look up at her a hopeful look on my face.

"Oh honey I packed all of your belongings up and had Hermes send it down to the underworld a while ago." She says laughing. "Either way there's no way I'll be letting you see your subjects in the underworld meet their Queen in sweatpants." Her nose turns up towards the sky. I suddenly felt a presence behind me and when I turned I was eye to eye with a squatting Christopher.

"JESUS!" I yelp as I jump into my mothers arms. "The hell do you want Christopher?" I ask grabbing my heart.

"I just wanted to say my goodbye. I never got to say this Annika, but I truly am sorry about all of this. Hopefully you won't hate me forever." He says standing to his full height. He towers over my seat and I have to crane my neck upwards to see his old ass face.

"I don't hate you Christopher. I always knew I was meant for something more than what I was doing I just could never put my finger on it." A smile creeps on my lips as I finally admit the truth to myself. Now that I'm a Goddess I can officially say stuff like that. When- if I become a Queen it's going to be ten times worse.

"That's wonderful Annika. I'm truly happy to hear those words." Without thinking I stand to give the strange man who I barely know a hug.

"I'm just happy I finally got to meet you...Dad." A moment of silent passes until suddenly I feel Christopher's strong arms wrap around my midsection consuming me in a string embrace. We let go and the room fills with a new found emotion. Something I can't even think of.

"Annika, are you ready to leave?" A stone faced Hades asks from the doorway of the dining room.

"Yes, actually I am." I move over to his side of the room. Grabbing my arm Hades drags me outside to the front yard. He said that this is where we'll be teleporting to the underworld from. Apparently open space is eat for a first time traveler.

My parents find their way to the front steps and I wave to them one more time and blow a kiss in their direction. Both of them reach for the invisible kiss and simultaneously my mother puts the kiss to her check while my father gently rest it in his pocket. I laugh and shake my head.

"Ready?" I look up and Hades is staring down at me.

"Let's go."

"Close your eyes." I hear Hades whisper. Before I know it vibrations start to run through my body when he lays is hands on my arms. As the sound of nature is replaced with the sound of wizzing like an old television the vibrations start to become stronger until it's feels like electric bolts running through my veins. I steady whine runs through my lips and when it does the electricity burns me like fire and I replace the whine with a scream, but just like that the pain fades and a soothing feeling replaces it instead.
