Falling

"Why can't I go to Olympus Hades?" I ask feeling irritated.

"Because Persephone is more likely to be there." Hades says as he goes back and forth from his room to the bathroom to change.

"Isn't that even more reason for me to be there?" I ask feeling unwanted.

"No, this doesn't concern you." He says and I hear the finality in his tone...But I always get the last word.

"Oh it doesn't? Well screw you Hades, I'm going up anyway. You don't fucking own me you ass." I say and before he can process my sentence. I poof myself to my room and hurry up and change into some dark blue jeans, a white blouse, and a pair of white wedges. I quickly brush out my hair from the bun and put it in a slick back ponytail. By the time I finish I open my door and there stands Hades leaning against the doorframe.

"Are you ready?" He asks.

"No." I close the door and lock it, but I know he's going to come inside anyway so I quickly travel to Olympus. Take that for none of my concern you dick.

Before I know it I'm at Olympus and right beside me is non other than....you guessed it! Hades.

"So you were ready?" He asks grabbing my hand.

"Hades stop being a bother and let's handle this. This IS my concern you feather faced fuck so let's get the hell up here, gather the family, and figure some shit out before I take you AND Persephone out of existence!" I snatch my hand away and start up the stairs. I know I could zap, but I can't face anyone with my temper. It's not that I'm mad at Hades, but the fact that he lets me in and then shuts me out when something bad happens and then tries to act like the situation didn't happen 5 minutes later. It hurt. I get it, this is his ex that left him broken and we technically aren't together, but we have something going on. There are emotions. There's enough going on between us that I should get some kind of respect. This is my concern because she's a threat to MY happiness and if anything goes down where my place next to Hades is jeopardized, that bitch is getting her shit ROCKED.

"Hello Annika. What brings you here? And why is Hades pouting?" Hera says as she eyes me walking towards the front entrance. She sits on the front porch of Olympus in a rocking chair and a quilted blanket on her legs as she reads a book. Odd, but not important.

"We need everyone to be gathered." I say in the most serious voice I could muster.

"Alright." She says standing. I go to follow her, but before I can take a step Hades grabs my hand.

"We'll talk about this. I snooped, and I'm sorry, but I heard what you said in your head. I pushed a little deeper into your mind to hear what you were thinking and I'll make it up to you." He says rubbing his neck.

"Whatever Hades, we have stuff we need to do right now." I say, but I don't let go of his hand. I'm stubborn that way.

When we walk through the doors we're met with all of the top gods and my siblings.

"Brother, what's this about?" Zeus says. His stern face makes the situation even more real and it makes my stomach drop to my ass for the hundredth time.

"Today Annika learned she has a new ability." Hades stated. Everyone seemed unimpressed. Everyone except for my mother and siblings of course.

"Okay brother." Zeus says and he begins to walk away.

"No brother, she has the gift if sight. To see the future, and she saw Persephone."

Everyone visibly freezes and the shock is apparent in all their eyes.

"She's coming back?" Demeter sneers. I almost flinch at the pure hatred that spills from her mouth. I gulp but don't respond. That question seemed rhetorical.

The energy of everyone has turned into something nasty and I feel horrified just thinking of what everyone would do to Persephone if she really came back.

"Well, she's been banished from Olympus and from the underworld so it shouldn't be a huge problem, right?" Harper asks nervously.

Hades shakes his head and looks disappointed and I can tell it's mostly with himself.

"No, she's only banished from Olympus. I hoped she would come back, so I always left the door open incase she came back." His shoulders slumped and I felt extremely bad for him. We've got some talking to do I suppose.

"HADES YOU DIMWIT!"

"WHAT THE HELL HADES!"

"I TOLD YOUI DIDNT WANT HER FACE AROUND HERE AGAIN! THAT MEANT THE UNDERWORLD TOO!"

Everyone begins shouting at once and I can nearly feel the shame radiating off of Hades. He lets his hand fall from mine, and his face looks like one of a small child being scolded. I never expected to see one of the strongest men ever known, to cower with his tail between his legs.

"Okay okay okay everyone." I say, but nobody listens to me. I roll my eyes and try again.

"ALRIGHT!" I shout and everyone's banter halts. "If you all are done yelling at him, I'd like to talk about a potential plan. He already feels bad enough. There's no need for the name calling and finger pointing." I say huffing and crossing my arms.

"We do what we want!" Gio says and I send him a death glare.

Don't tempt me little boy. I may be small, but I'll whoop your scrawny ass.

He instantly puts his hands up in a surrendering position and I stare at him a second longer before turning back to the crowd of gods.

"Well? Are we just going to stand here and waste precious time? This is serious and we need to start conjuring a plan!" I say and nobody moves and I get agitated.

"How do you all expect me to become a queen but won't listen to me?" I ask. When nobody moves a muscle, I finally realize that something is terribly off. When I say no one moved a muscle I mean it literally. Not one blink of and eye or rise of a chest. All the gods were frozen. I looked over at Hades and luckily he was still moving.

"Hades." I whisper and he looks up. I suppose he hadn't made the realization I had made just yet.

"Yeah?"

"They're frozen." I say. I'm locked in a state of shock and I begin feeling fear trickle through my veins. Something was definitely off, and I wasn't in the mood for it.

"Huh?" He looks over at the family and let's out a large gasp.

"She froze them. How is she here? Why is she doing this!" He asks no one. I can only guess who the she was and presume it's Persephone.

"We need to leave." I say grabbing his hand.

"No, let me unfreeze them first." He grabs the hand of Zeus and yanks on it in a way that would surely dislocate it if he were human. Zeus starts to rapidly blink and I look as Hades continues yanking on arms and each god or goddess is awakened.

"What the hell are you doing?" I ask intrigued to the maximum.

"It's called the pull and release. I made it when Persephone got her powers because she kept freezing people on accident, but I never told her about it. I let her think she was releasing each person she froze from their frozen state." Hades says as he comes back to my side.

"What happened?" My mother asks as she and the others stretch their limbs.

"Well, Persephone somehow froze you all." Hades says before I can open my mouth.

"So she's truly back? But how? Why? When did the bitch even get back?" Demeter asks. I almost laugh at the bitch part but I decide to hold my tongue.

"I'm not sure, but we need to figure this out before I torch her ass." I say without thinking. Everyone turns to me and I shrug. "Just kidding?"

"No you weren't." Everyone says and begins to laugh in unison. I'm glad we can laugh at a time like this because I'm sensing a war coming, and it's gonna be a big one.
