Annika's POV
Laying in bed that night was a complete bust. I couldn't help but wonder why Hades had told everyone to treat me like their Queen. I mean sure I guess you could say we were destined to be together, but this is more of an arranged marriage, and it's not even official until we all decide if I'm ready or not. Maybe he thinks it'll work out.

The fates

My father did speak with the fates before I was conceived. He said the end result was promising, and maybe Hades is going off of his word, but that seems unlikely since he doesn't seem to trust or like my father. I look over towards the clock to see it's only twelve fifteen. Getting up from bed I put on the dog slippers I brought down from the surface. I grab my silk robe and find myself shuffling through halls to the kitchen, or the direction I thought was the kitchen. Finally falling frustrated from turning every corner I huff and begin the walk back to my room feeling hungry and defeated. This walk was just as bad though. Every door seemed to be the same finally I found my room and a sigh of relief slipped through my lips.

If only I had found the kitchen instead.

Opening the door I walked inside only to find my room completely different from when I left. It was huge and not only that, but the silky white curtains were now thick and black along with the dressers and comforter. The biggest difference was the large lump in the bed.

THIS IS HADES' ROOM!

I gasp when I realize and immediately I begin to slowly close the door.

"Leaving so soon Annika?" I hear a voice ask from inside. I freeze and look up to find the lump sitting up in the darkness.

"Sorry?" I say hoping to get out of the situation as easy as possible.

"There is no easy way out of this situation."

"Stay out of my head Hades." I say becoming slightly irritated of the man before me.

"Sorry?" He retorts using my bogus line against me. I huff and go back to closing the door.

"Not so fast Annika!" Hades whisper yells. I open the door back to I can listen to whatever ridiculousness he has to say.

"Come in."

"Come in?" I ask extremely shocked. He changes moods so easily. First he was an ass, then he was cool, quiet and awkward, an accusing ass, now he's being cool again? It doesn't add up.

"Yes, Come in and close the door."

Rolling my eyes I do as he asks and stand by the door. There is no light in the room since I closed the door. The hallway held the artificial lights of the moon funnily enough. I'm guessing to make the dead feel home? Who knows.

"What do you need Hades?"

"Come here."

"I can't see a thing." I respond, irritation seeping through my teeth.

"Follow the sound of my voice. I swear you'll be fine. Maybe." He laughs a little. Rolling my eyes I start walking in the direction of his voice like he instructed.

"And you're walking and walking and walking and walking and you made it!" He says when I finally arrive at the side of his bed.

"What do you want?"

"Well sit down first." He says like it was obvious. When I sit down he immediately begins talking again.

"Annika, I've been smoki-thinking, and I feel the need to apologize for my behavior. I've been moody about this situation and theirs no need to make you feel unwelcome. I swear this point forth I'll be the nicest arranged husband you've ever had." I laugh as I realize that he's high. Stoned no doubt. I didn't even know God's could get high.

"We most definitely can!"

"Hades, for the last time stay out of my got damn thoughts!" I stamp my foot to the ground like a child. Suddenly without warning I feel myself being yanked forward and with one swift motion I'm laying next to Hades.

"I'm probably going to be confused in the morning, so please explain to me why you're sleeping next to me so then I can be embarrassed instead." The fact that he was so serious made me nearly die of laughter.

"How about I just find my room and high and sober you can stay friends?" I begin sitting up to leave but a large hand wraps around my arm and yanks me back down in my laying position.

"Sober me will be just fine. Besides I'll behave." He states firmly. I shrug and find my way under the covers. Why I'm okay with this, I don't know? Why is he okay with this? Drugs.

Not long after though I hear Hades soft snores indicating his unctuousness. I start to leave but stop myself when the cold air hits my bare legs.

"Fuck it." Pulling the blankets back onto myself I snuggle deeper into the thick sheets. Drifting off to sleep a yawn escapes my lips and the drowsiness hits me hard.

Morning

Usually people are woken up by the sounds of birds or maybe an alarm clock. Sometimes lucky woman are awaken by a kiss or breakfast. Me? Well I was awaken by hot ass breath and a rough shake to my arm.

"Annika?" The person says my name as they shake my once more.

"Yes?" I ask dragging the s.

"Why are you in my bed?"

"You got high and forced me to sleep in here. When I tried to leave you pulled me to lay down and told me you'd behave. I fell asleep and now I'm awake." A groan leaves his lips and he lays down with his hands over his face. I close my eyes trying to drift off until he starts talking again.

"Why were you in my room?"

"I got lost on my way to the kitchen and when I gave up I came back to my room only to find out, coincidentally, that it was your room I had found, and you told me to come in." I say still wishing sleep would take me away again.

"Interesting." Hades turns his back to my face in attempt to ,what I'm guessing, fall back asleep

"What time is it by the way?" I mumble.

"Three o'eight." Hades mumbles back. A groan erupts from my mouth and I rollover so my back is facing his.

What was I thinking? Inviting her to sleep in here?

I didn't think that. That's not my conscious voice.

Hades? I ask in my head. I felt silly. Of course that wasn't Hades. I can't read minds!

Annika?! How the hell are you in my head!?

We both whip around to face one another simultaneously, the exhaustion slipping off of us like butter.
