Roman, Soren and I are
smiling and greeting
guests at
Dara and Ambrose's wedding.

I'm standing in between
the two brothers,
feeling quite short,
though I'm of average height.

"Why did we agree to do this?"
Soren asks both his brother
and me.
We both shrug.

"They moved fast, didn't they?"
Roman muses.
I nod as I smile and hand
Mrs. Abernathy her table number.

"Who bets that Mom is going
to start crying when someone
decides to make a speech?"
Soren asks.

Both me
and Roman
shoot up
our hands.

Despite the fact that Dara
is not Jean's own daughter,
no one can stop her from
acting otherwise.

We're laughing when a
average height, unfamiliar girl
reaches up from behind
Soren and taps him on the shoulder.

"Soren?" The girl's voice
is timid and shy.
She has dark hair, dark eyes
and caramel skin. She's gorgeous.

"Drusilla?" he blinks,
This was Drusilla Leoni?
Soren opens his mouth
several times, looking like an idiot.

Drusilla musters a smile,
but hurt shows on her face
through every feature.
"Hi, Soren."

Roman is the only one who
actually manages to
stay calm and collected.
"Hey, Dru! How have you been?"

She returns it with a weak smile,
"Good, and you, Roman?"
"I've hit heaven. This is my girlfriend,
Tallulah Bay." The tension suddenly drops.

"Hi, I'm Tallulah. I take it you're Drusilla?
I've heard a lot about you."
I offer my hand for her to shake
and she takes it.

"A pleasure to meet you."
Drusilla replies and we
exchange
a polite smile.

"Soren, it's your turn for a break."
My brothers appear behind us.
"You too, Lulu, Roman."
"Please don't call me Lulu in public." I beg.

Tate gives me a wicked grin.
"Lulu, Lulu, Lulu," he singsongs.
I grimace. "Somehow
you make a child's name sound dirty."

"That he does." Jacob agrees.
"Anyway, I believe the bride
needs her Maid of Honour."
I just smile.

I leave Roman at the
mercy of my aunt
and head to Dara's
prep room.

Wearing a traditional
white wedding dress,
my almost sister-in-law
is stunning.

Her dark brown hair
is perfectly coiffed.
Her dark skin is aglow
with happiness.

She twirls,
"How do I look?"
she asks.
I try to find the right words.

"My brother is going to be
unable to take his eyes
off you."
And that makes her glow.

"So are you ready?"
I ask.
She takes a deep breath,
before grinning.

"To marry the man I love?
Hell yes," she laughs
and I open the door
and lead the way out.

Roman smiles at me
as I walk in front of
the bride. He and I share
a small smile.

Taking my spot,
I sneak a peek at my
brother to see him looking upon
Dara like she's an angel.

He's spellbound and entranced,
as if she is his light, his savior.
And perhaps, for him,
she is.

It's cute,
if slightly
disturbing
because he's my brother.

The vows are said sincerely,
with passion
Even I almost swoon.
And I'm not that romantic.
