Episode 16: Music and Us

It's the day that Chanyeol was waiting for (so do author and readers LOL!!). They are on their semester break. Today, Chaeyoung asks Minseok for leave because she... goes... on... a date with Chanyeol!!! He asks her to ask Minseok for leave so that they could spend time together as an official couple since their school gave them a break already. It's fine for Chaeyoung to ask for leave since she works seven days per week already.

Chanyeol promises to pick Chaeyoung up by 9 am. She is ready and waits for him in front of her house. Chanyeol arrives... but wait! He drives here! He stops his Mercedes and steps down to walk towards Chaeyoung...

"How long have you been waiting? Am I late?" Chanyeol asks her and she shakes her head

"Wah! You can drive?" Chaeyoung widens her eyes as she saw he stepped down from the car and open the door for her

"Well, I had my license since last year but since school is not quite far so I just take a bus to avoid pollution." They both laugh that Chanyeol is environmentally friendly and humble that he chooses to take the bus to school and keeps his car at home

"So are we going somewhere far today that you decided to stop being environmental friendly?" Chanyeol raises his shoulders

"I guess but I cannot tell you just yet." Chaeyoung raises her eyebrows wondering why he keeps secret "Gaja!"

Chaeyoung enters the car at the passenger seat. Chanyeol closes the door and goes to the driver's side. They start their journey. He still doesn't tell her where they are going yet. They both talk non-stop about songs in his car because they are their favorite songs... They have the same taste of music...

"I saw a guitar in your room last time. Do you play it too?" Chanyeol asks her while keeping his eyes on the road and driving

"Yeah! A little! I love the instruments a lot!"

"What else you can play?"

"I'm not sure. I never try others. Can you play some?" Chaeyoung looks at his face seeking for an answer

"I also play guitar. I have one at my home and a piano too. When I was in primary school, I was always with my computer all day long after class so my dad dragged me out by taking me to music class. Since then, I found out that I'm in love with all kind of musical instruments. I always find myself involving with any kind of instruments whenever I see one. Keke!!!" He laughs at himself. It's true that he could play any musical instruments by just sit with time several minutes only. Playing instruments becomes his another hobby besides computer. Chaeyoung also smile a little "Do you wanna try playing piano?" He asks her

"Well, actually, I just had bad memories with piano so I stopped playing it since then." Chaeyoung looks down at her laps. Chanyeol looks at her a bit but he can tell her sad expression

"What happened, Chaeng?" He seeks for an answer since she looks very down. She sighs gently. "If you are not comfortable to talk, it's fine!"

[Flashback]

8-year-old Chaeyoung sneaked into a room that had a piano inside. She sighed before putting her little fingers on the notes. She started play Disney's 'A Whole New World' in Aladdin. She hit the notes right but slower since she was not really familiar with it yet. She peeped when piano tutor taught Sooyoung for months. Her mum didn't allow her to learn nor touch that piano and she didn't know why. She finished that whole song with the right notes. She had a true talent! She smiled ear to ear with her first achievement. She stood up but her elbow accidentally crashed the vase on the piano... The vase was broken... She started biting her nails... Her knees were shaking...

Unfortunately, Mrs. Park entered the room...

"Yah! Park Chaeyoung! What are you doing here at this hour?" Mrs. Park grabs her little left waist and yelled "Come with me." She pulled little Chaeyoung with her into her lesson-learned room. "How many times do I have to tell you not to use the piano? It's your sister's and you have no right to play it. Look! Now you even broke my mother's vase." Chaeyoung bitted her lower lip and cried

"Eomma! Mianhae!" She grabbed her mother's hand with her both little hands

"Turn! I'll teach you the lesson!" She took the stick from her drawer

"Eomma! Chaebal!!"

[End the Flasback]

"Chaeng-ah! I'm sorry to hear that. You went through a lot." Chanyeol takes his right hand from the wheel and grabs Chaeyoung's hands that are on her laps. She gives him a brief smile while he glares at her a bit too. "I don't promise to make you happy because of me every day but I'll try my best to give you all the best."

Chanyeol finally stops in front of a shop...

"Let's have some breakfast first. I haven't had anything yet this morning." He stops by a ramen shop and they both step down the car and enter the shop

"I had a toast this morning but I can still eat more." She smiles and her cheeks move cutely. They order two bowls of ramen and start digging in. Chanyeol always steals a glare at Chaeyoung while she is eating. Her cheeks are moving so cute when she is chewing her foods. He loves how her eyes widen when she puts food inside her mouth.

"Has someone ever told you that you look like a chipmunk?" She stops eating and glares at him

"Ah Wae?"

"You look like one, especially when you're eating. I guess you love foods more than me." He laughs and they go back to eat their ramen.
