Namikaze -Iruka Umino-

Chapter Five

Days turned to weeks, as weeks to months, then months to years as Asa and Iruka lived together. They enjoy each other's company. They watched over Naruto as every birthday passed. Asa was a medical-nin in the hospital like the Hokage said she was going to. Then a few years later, Iruka decided to be an academy teacher. Asa was so proud of him wanting to teach students. It made her proud.

Her feelings for Iruka was still there even after soon long of being friends.  Asa kept trying to work up the courage, but every time she would run to Emiko's house with panic written on her face. This girl was a lost cause, Emiko needed help getting her friend with her long-time crush.

Asa had woken before both boys. She had a routine every morning; she would wake up, make breakfast then get them both up. This time it was Naruto first day at the academy, so Asa made lunch for both of the boys in her life. Once Asa had finished breakfast like she always did, the woman made her way down the hall and to Naruto's room where he was asleep.

Asa smiled to her self at the six-year-old laying in his bed. She walked closer and shook the boy's shoulder, getting him to roll over and smiled at his aunt. She grinned down at the blond as he sat up and looked around.

"Morning bud. It's your first day at the academy. Eat, then get dressed. I'm gonna wake up Iruka," Asa told the boy. Naruto jumped from his bed and ran out of the room, making Asa laugh to herself at his excited self. The woman shook her head and walked to the door next to hers. Asa knocked on the door as a 'hm' sounded from the inside of the room.

Asa opened the door to see Iruka's head deep into the pillow as he was still sleeping. The girl giggled at him as he rolled over, looking up through one eye when he heard someone walk in. Iruka smiled up at the girl that was staring down at him. Asa loved seeing him in the morning because his hair was down and not in the usual ponytail he wore, plus the sleepy smile that he would show the girl.

"You have a class to teach. Get ready, and I have breakfast made. Plus I'll bring your lunch later," Asa smiled walking from the room. This made Iruka blush. She always made him food, he tried to make it, but she always told him she would because it was something she loved doing.

Asa had been staying around the house more, only picking up shifts when she was needed. Asa enjoyed staying home to clean and cook for the boys, plus she would visit Emiko.

Asa walked back down the hall to let Iruka get ready. She went back to the kitchen to eat with Naruto as Iruka was still in his room. Asa took her usual seat that was on one side of the table. Asa chuckled at the boy, and he always seemed to be eating all of the food she makes.

"Mhmm something smells good," Iruka commented as he walked into the room. The pair looked up from their food, to see the man in front of them. Asa smiled and looked to Naruto who had food hanging from his mouth. Asa giggled as Iruka sat down laughing as well at the boy.

"Asa's food is always good!" Naruto shouted with a happy grin on his face. Asa shook her head and went back to eating once more. As the three silently ate, Asa would look up to Iruka only to see his head shoot down.

'Is he looking at me?' Asa thought. She looked back up to make eye contact; they sat like that for a few minutes when the sound of a cup getting set down sounded. Asa looked away with a blush as she looked over at Naruto as he looked up at her with a smile.

"Let's go. I don't wanna be late!" Naruto excitedly shouted at his aunt. Asa nodded her head and stood up, picking up all the plates with Iruka's help. Asa turned around only to bump into the man. Iruka dropped a cup from his hand to grab onto Asa before she went backward.

Asa looked up at Iruka with flaming red cheeks. His face mirrored her own. Asa looked down at his hands that held onto her arms, she was trying to avoid his gaze that would leave her face. They stood like this for what felt like an hour, but in reality, it was only minutes. Naruto had run in about to yell when he saw Iruka holding onto Asa.

A thought came into his mind of the two. Lately, Naruto had been noticing how his aunt would blush around Iruka and how the man would react too. Naruto saw how the woman would smile at the man, they seemed happy around each other. A plan started to form into his mind.

"Asa can we all walk to the academy together," Naruto smiled sweetly at the two. Asa looked down at the boy with a smile of her own.

"Sure. What do you say Iruka?" the woman questioned. Iruka looked between the two with a smile as well and a nod of his head.

"Well let's go so we are not late then," laughed Iruka as Naruto took his hand. Asa shook her head as she grabbed onto the lunches for the boys and followed them out of the house.

Naruto walked beside both of them, holding onto their hands as they made their way towards the academy. People around the three were making comments about Naruto. The word monster was thrown out there and Iruka could see the hurt in Asa's eyes as she looked forward hiding all the pain she felt.

"Look at that. Is Iruka really with those freaks?" one person said. Asa started to tear up, Iruka looked over again to see that she was about to cry. Iruka whispered to Naruto to run ahead and he would catch up.

"Hey. Ignore them. I love being with you two. You're my best friend," Iruka pulled Asa into a side hug as they kept walking. This helped her mood change a bit as she stared at the boy in front of them.

"Thank you for being there for us," she looked up to Iruka. They smile at each other, before running a little to catch up to Naruto.

It wasn't long before the three got to the academy to see all the new students and parents getting in. Iruka walked with the two blond as they walked into the hall. Iruka bid the two of them a farewell as he needed to find the list of students he would be teaching.

Naruto and Asa went to go find the class that the boy would be in. It didn't take long until they found it. Asa stood in front with all of the other parents saying goodbye. The girl knelt in front of her nephew who looked nervously into the classroom full of kids.

"Now be good. Make some friends and remember I'll be waiting for you and Iruka after school today. I want to hear all about your day today when we get home," Asa told the boy. Naruto nodded his head as she handed him the box of food.

"Thank you Asa. I'll see you later!" called Naruto as he ran into the classroom. The girl smile as she stood up to find Iruka as Asa noticed that she still had his lunch as well. The woman set off walking back down the hall knowing she'd see him at some point. Just as she made it around the corner Iruka popped up with a smile.

"Iruka! Here I have your lunch. Have a good day!" Asa exclaimed as she handed the food over. The man smiled at her as he took the food and pulled her along too, into a hug. This took the Namikaze by surprise.

Her face got hotter as they stayed in the same spot for a while. Asa was the first to pull away as she looked up to see Iruka rubbing the back of his neck.

"Have a great to Asa. See you later," he said.

"Hey... um we should... We should go out tonight. I can see if Emiko can watch Naruto for us," Asa said growing the courage to say something. Iruka's face grew red as he thought about it. Asa was asking him on a date, he should have been the one.

"Yeah. It's a date. Just you and me," Iruka smiled pulling the girl back into a hug. Asa smiled and took off after Iruka let go saying he had to get to class. She needed to tell Emiko all about their date, knowing her friend would be so happy.
