Namikaze -Iruka Umino-

Chapter Thirteen

The five days went by quick enough and on the preliminary day Asa waited in the infirmary with a few other of the medical nins. They all wore the standard tan long coat and the white hats the covered all their hair. Asa sat on one of the beds as a few other medical nin's on her team stood around her. They all were talking. Not much was happening at the moment as the Hokage was speaking to all the genin about this next exam that was happening.

Asa had remembered that Iruka had told her that he was to be locked in the scrolls to meet Naruto's team. Asa had left early that morning so she could get ready so if there were any genin injured she could heal and help them. Asa wanted to meet all the genin after the second exam but as a medical nin she had to wait at the bay for any injured.

Within two more minutes of silence three members of Asa's team that left came back with one of the stretcher. They got to work checking the guy over. She had set her team to work on him as Asa got other things ready. This is just the beginning of the preliminaries and she knew that there were more injured to come.

Two more of the medical nins took another ninja from the main room. Asa looked to this genin to see his arms destroyed with little holes all through them. Asa began to heal the genin's arms. But it didn't look like there was a chance at saving his arms.

Asa and a team member rushed out with a stretcher to get a genin covered head to toe in purple with a leaf headband. She and her teammate brought the genin in to rest. She set the ninja onto one of the beds.

This went on a few more rounds until all the preliminaries were done with. The girl remembered seeing both Sakura and Ino Yamanaka had been knocked out.

Asa walked from the infirmary and outside the building waiting for Naruto. Iruka walked out to see the woman in her medical clothing. He smiled to himself and walked towards to blond.

"Waiting for someone?" Iruka questioned. Asa looked up to see Iruka standing in front of her, she smiled to the Umino.

"Naruto. I want to see how he did," Asa answered. Iruka nodded with a smile, pulling to the girl into him. They stood next to each other, Iruka's arm around her waist as hers was around his. Asa saw Naruto run from the building.

"Hey," Asa called waving her free arm.

"Oh Asa!" The boy yelled running to the pair.

"I made it to the last of the exams. We start back in a month. I'm going to go visit Sasuke so I'll be home later," Naruto said hugged the blond woman before running off. Asa shook her head, then turning to see Iruka staring at her.

"Want me to make ramen for dinner tonight? I'll save some for Naruto. Who knows when he will be home," the Namikaze giggle before the two walked towards their home.

Asa had made the ramen she said she would, putting a bowl of it into the fridge for her nephew. Iruka had gone to the bathroom for a shower as Asa walked to their large book shelf and found a photo album that had been tucked away. Asa walked to the couch and sat down with the book. She opened it and the first picture she saw was a baby Naruto.

Asa smiled every time she saw this picture, she had taken it two days after he was born. As the woman flipped through she hadn't noticed Iruka had walked in. He stood in the door way between the hall and the living room to see Asa looking down with a smile.

"I see you found the album," Iruka said sitting next to the Namikaze. Asa turned her head to see Iruka looked over her shoulder, his hair was down and wet showing he had left the shower.

"Yeah. Look! You were adorable as a kid. Naruto has that big of a smile too," laughed Asa as she bumped her shoulder with his. Iruka laughed with her, bumping her shoulder back as they looked through the album, pointing out Naruto and laughing at each other in the photos.

Naruto had walked through the door while making sounds as if he was talking. Asa looked to Iruka who stood up with a kunai that the Asa had hidden in the cushion of the couch. Asa walked behind Iruka as he moved towards the front door. Two voices could be heard as they got closer, then as Iruka turned the corner Asa noticed the man standing beside Naruto.

"Jiraiya?" Asa questioned. The girl moved from behind Iruka to in front of the tall white haired man.

"Asa?" He questioned back with shock. The last time the man had seen the girl was when Naruto was just born and she was younger then. The two talked for a minute, catching up in a way. When Naurto got their attention by jumping into Asa's face.

"Asa Pervy Sage said he'd train me for the chunin exams!" The boy shouted. Asa looked down at the blond, seeing a large smile on her face. She remember when Minato was training under the Sannin and how excited he used to get.

"Well then go to bed and rest up. You'll need it," Asa told the boy. Naruto raced from the group off adults and towards his bedroom. Asa turned to the taller man, looking right at him.

"Thank you for training Naruto. He's a hellion I know," Asa said looking back at Iruka for a moment. She knew of Naruto misbehaving when she was sent on long missions. The three said good night as Iruka and Asa went towards their bedroom. Asa stopped by Naruto's room to see the boy already laying down and sleeping. The woman smiled as she turned from his room and towards hers where Iruka was already laying down with his eyes closed.

Asa smiled, seeing how lucky she had gotten. A nephew whom she loved like a son and a boyfriend who loved her. She was happy, this was the life she wanted. She wanted happiness, she didn't care what pain would come before or after. But she enjoyed every peaceful moment she had gotten, in the shinobi world you never knew what would happen.
