“Oooh sexy, sexy!” Victor chanted, grinning, as I walked up to him the next day at the venue. He took a lock of my hair between two fingers and twirled it. “I like the new cut, what made you suddenly want to change it?”
“I didn’t, James did. I just made it pretty.” I said proudly, he had an angry look on his face. “Its just hair, it can grow back but I’m kinda diggin’ it.” I smiled. He cut it so short it hung just beneath my jaw. It had been a jagged looking mess but I evened it out an gave it some layers with the razor so now it was kinda spiky, it reminded me a little of victor’s hair except for the fact I couldn’t get mine to stop curling now.
“Why did he cut it?” He asked.
“I ran into someone I used to know, a friend who has moved away. I didn’t realize we were in the area he had moved to so when we went shopping last night and I saw him... I couldn’t help myself. He was the first person I’d ever seen from my past life and I just had to go to him...” I said trailing off.
“I understand. I’ve watched countless people grow into their new life as part of a crew and they all fall for the first person they see from their old life. They just cant help it, if they don’t talk to them they go crazy thinking about what could have been, that person give them closure and allows them to finally let go.”
“So because I talked to him you think thats why I also didn’t mind about my hair?” I asked curiously.
“Yes, it was the last symbol of your earlier life you had left but after you talked to your friend it eased your nerves. You were able to finally except your fate and when he cut your hair it became a symbol of the new you shining through.” He smiled, talking like he was an expert in this behavior. “Its silly to think of a simple hair cut as such a revolution but its true. Everyone has that one thing they hold onto, wether its something as simple as a hair cut, or as serious as a family photo they hold on to it and when that one thing or person happens to bring them closure they finally realize that they will be okay without it. They are going to make it, just like you.” He finished, ruffling my hair. “Guess what today is!?” He asked happily.
“What?”
“The day that begins the second half of the tour! You’ve almost made it through your first tour!” He gushed like a proud papa. “I don’t condone underage drinking but here you might as well be ageless soooooo I’m taking you drinking, and we will party the night away!”
“And this is different from any other night on your bus how?” I asked smartly
“Shut up...” He pouted but you could still see the excitement bubbling within him.
“I love how you can get so excited about the simplest things.” I sighed “You always make me remember to laugh and have fun.”
“Yup, what are friends for?” He beamed “So be at our bus at 11!” With that we both went our separate ways. Him back to his bus to get beautified for the stage tonight and me to the trailers to retrieve the precious boxes for the merch stand tonight.
As I neared the trailer I heard a giggle and when I peered around it I saw Rem and Celestina sitting together under a tree. The venue was next to a beautiful glittering, lake that they looked out upon between exchanging loving glances at each other. He was resting against the tree and she was laying on his lap with her head on his shoulder. They made the cutest couple but I was worried for her, they seemed to be jumping into it to quickly, I feared they weren’t giving themselves enough time to adjust to each other and they might run out and do something rash on a quick whim, and puppy love in their hearts. They appeared to be so deeply intertwined and in love already but I just couldn’t except a few days as enough time to truly fall in love. I watched them murmur softly to each other, hand in hand, for a few moments and my heart felt a familiar ping that happened every time I saw them, or anyone for that matter. I sighed opening the trailer and starting to unload. When I came back out after carrying in the table and display Celestina was leaning against the door.
“Need some help?” She smiled warmly.
“I’m alright, I thought you were with Rem.”
“We never hang out anymore though. I know I’ve been spending all my time with Rem but I hope that isn’t affecting us.” She said cautiously, trying to get a reading on me.
“We’re fine, I’m worried about you.” I said, standing up from going to get a box and looking her in the eye.
“Really?” She said confused.
“Yes, I get you guys really like each other but you don’t.... love each other yet... right?”
“I do love him...” She replied quietly. “Why do you have a problem with it?” She said suddenly looking up and taking a protective stance.
“No, no problem with the two of you.” I said holding up my hands. “I’m just worried you are running into this so quickly... that you might jump off the cliff with both feet and do something you’ll regret later...”
“Like what? I don’t know if you’ve noticed this about relationships but there isn’t much to run into. Yes we hang out a lot, hold hands, kiss, and say I love you but thats nothing to be worried about.” She said like a definite teen, who just didn't understand.
“It is when you suddenly decide since your so close you should make it official and run off and get married or you get pregnant and start having kids. Thats something to be worried about!”
“It would be if we were thinking about any of that stuff but right now everything is just innocent, nothing big like that has happened or has been planned or will happen anytime soon, stop worrying!” She shot back. “I swear its like I suddenly got a new mom, and I wasn’t to fond of the first one!”
“I couldn’t be a good mom even if I tried so stop accusing me of acting like one, your my friend, hell your more like my sister now so I just want to know you’ll be okay.... I don’t want you to get hurt...” I said trailing off.
“He wouldn’t hurt me.” She said also getting quiet and looking down thoughtfully.
“Anyone has the capability to hurt you... wether they know it or not.” With this she turned around and ran. I walked to the edge of the trailer watching her, I almost cried out for her to come back and let me smooth it all over but I didn’t. She ran back to the lake where Rem was standing looking at his phone. He turned when he saw her coming and she ran right into his arms where he held her tightly. Her grip was one of fear, I could tell it from where I stood. I had scared her badly and she didn’t want to let him go. He smiled whispering something soothing into her ear. She lifted her head off his chest and looked at him saying something in reply. He wiped tears from her face and made soft circular motions on her cheek with his thumb. His gaze was so full of love I knew they were in deep already, all I could hope now was that everything turned out alright, or they would be destroyed.
Sorry it was short, I’ll write again later or tomorrow! :) This chapter was for the Rem and Cel lovers out there to show how much they really love each other.
