I slowly opened my eyes, squinting at the sun that was shining through the car's window. Wait, what?

I turned my head to the side, seeing Cole casually head-bobbing to the current song on the radio. We were back in his car?

This was so confusing. One minute I am being chased by a crazy psycho, who is very short tempered may I add, then I am being comforted by a random stranger who saves me from almost being murdered, and now here I am back to normal.

"Oh, hey there sleeping beauty. For a minute there I thought you might never wake up. I was going to attempt to kiss you, just like the prince did in the story but... Then I remembered the Disney trip." Cole placed a hand on his chest, closing his eyes for just a brief moment to add effect. "That poor guy didn't stand a chance against you. Your dad had to practically drag you away from him before you murdered him." Cole nudged me slightly, whilst a smirk slowly but surly made it's way onto his lips.

"Well, he shouldn't of been pretending to be prince charming, and stealing kisses on cheeks of little girls such as myself." I smiled at the memory of Cole, his parents, and my mother all standing by amused, watching my father drag me away from the guy that I had previously punched in the stomach. Such good memories.

"You do realize he was just doing his job, right?" Cole laughed, whilst turning the car down the road that led to my farmhouse. Were we home already?

"No sh¡t Sherlock." I mocked. Cole's shocked faced amused me so much, that as I opened the car door I literally fell to the ground laughing. That only resulted in Cole to throw his door open and run to my side.

"Did you just fall?" He panicked whilst checking me for any injuries. Seriously, he just saw me practically belly-flop out of the car, and he just asked me that.

Wow.

"No, I just like lying on roads. I love the feeling of the dirt on my face." I sarcastically replied. Cole helped me to my feet, snaking an arm around my waist in order to keep me up right. He slowly walked me towards my porch, when I stopped and turned to face him. "You didn't actually take me seriously back then, did you?" He stared at me a little longer than I would have expected but still, he simply replied with a shake of his head and scoffed at me.

"Of course not. I think that I know when my best friend is being sarcastic." He chuckled. I grabbed the set of keys that were conveniently placed under the mat, and unlocked the door.

Walking inside my house felt different for some reason. Like there was someone else here, apart from my mother. I could smell the cologne radiating from the stranger's jacket pegged up behind the door. I curiously spun around, walking outside again towards Cole's car.

"Al, are you alright?" Cole ran to my side, but my thoughts blocked me out so much that I had no chance of noticing him.

I ripped open the barn doors, to see a jet-black Audi R8. Now my family arn't poor but neither are we rich, especially after my father left. There was no way we owned this car. Especially because the only money that is being made for the family at the moment, is the small amount of cash I earn from the diner in town.

Cole zoomed around the car, admiring it's looks. He looked up at me with a glint in his eyes, like a kid in a sweet shop. Typical. When he catches sight of something he likes, he's like a magpie who's seen something shiny.

He suddenly frowned at me, slowly walking around the car to get to me. He placed his hands on my cheeks, now making me aware that I had been crying. He placed a soft kiss on my forehead, knowing fully well what has caused my upset.

*Flashback*

I waved goodbye to Cole's truck, as it sped down the country road.

"Mum, are you home?" I placed my bag roughly on the ground, feeling tired after missing the bus resulting in me having to call Cole to pick me up.
