"Oh my goodness!" My mother gasped, a smile beaming on her lips.

I stood in front of the mirror, that hung lazily on the infirmary's wall, and studied myself in detail.

The white, shimmering complexion of my fur stood out amongst many of my changed features.

My big, round snout sat above my grinning lips, as I closely looked at every single feature my wolf had to offer.

But what captured my attention to the fullest, was my round, puppy-like eyes. The once dark brown colouring of my human form's eyes, now a vibrant golden glimmer.

My father, mother, Clay, Derek, Riley, and the pack doctor, all stood a distance behind my breathtaking wolf. Their eyes filled with joy, and awe.

"Allison..." Clay trailed off, shaking his head in disbelief, "... How?"

I shook my head at him, as I found it too difficult to shrug my shoulders in the form of a wolf. I turned back to the mirror, scanning my eyes over my wolf once again.

Big puppy eyes, pointy ears, round muzzle, tall stance, strong fluffy paws, and flawless white fur.

It was unbelievably surreal.

"Allison, we believe that what you have just experienced was your first shifting," the doctor spoke from beside me, "unusual as it may seem, you are indeed now fully connected to your wolf."

I looked up at the pack doctor, attempting to nod my head at her, to show her that I understood.

"B-but she's not even sixteen as of yet," my mother looked baffled, "how could she have possibly of shifted so soon?"

"Well, we believe," the doctor began, gesturing between my father and herself, "that it is all down to the Alpha gene."

Both Clay and Derek looked towards my father for clarification, before turning to each other, sharing knowing smiles.

My mother looked over at me with a proud smile on her face, tears of joy brimming in her eyes. She gently soothed her hand over her baby bump, causing her smile to widen.

"Gosh, what a year this has been." Derek laughs, patting our dad on the back.

"It certainly has," my father smiles, looking down at me.

"Okay, easy does it now." Clay warns, as he slowly walks alongside my wolf.

It's currently six a.m, and I am outside the pack house with Clay trying to find my wolf's bearings.

"Allie, I said take it easy!" Clay snaps when I try quickening my pace.

I huff at his over protectiveness, feeling somewhat bounded by rope, as Clay continues to restrict what I do in my wolf form so early on.

My father is leaning against the large mahogany doors to the pack house, watching us from a distance.

I see my mother then come into view, as she links an arm around my father's bicep. With her free hand, she gently pats her swollen stomach.

I smile at the image of my family.

Who would have thought, the once lonely girl who sat in the darkest of corners, the punching bag for the entire student body, the girl who lived a lie as the daughter of a snobby pre-cheerleader, has become someone more significant than she knew herself?

I look over the vast, green and lush fields surrounding the pack house, as other pack members continue on with their day-to-day routines.

Young pups run around laughing, without a care in the world, as their parents try to gain control over their hyper moods and fits of giggles.
