The music's beat thudded inside my head, as I sat on the curb in front of Lia's house.

It was late in the evening, and most of the guests had already arrived, whilst a few late-showers plodded their way up the sidewalk.

I peered down into my red party cup, seeing that I was quickly running out of refreshment.

"Allie?" I snapped my head up to see Cole, frowning down at me.

"Hey there, stranger!" I laughed, standing up and brushing the dirt off my jeans.

"What are you doing outside? The party is that way." He chuckled, pointing to the house behind me.

"Oh, I know," I shrugged, "I just needed some fresh air."

"Oh, okay. Well whilst you sit out here and catch a cold, I am going to give these to my beautiful girl." He smiled, holding up a delicate bouquet of white lilies.

"That's what you've spent all this time looking for?" I chuckled.

"Well, I had to go to six different stores, but it was well worth the time spent, in the end." He grins sheepishly, looking down at the pretty flowers.

"I bet she'll love them." I smiled, seeing Cole's face lighten up.

"You really think so?" He asks, a hint of hesitation in his voice.

"I know so," I grin playfully, pushing him towards the house. "Now go get her!"

"Alright!" He laughs, pushing me away gently.

"Don't forget to tell her how you feel!" I called after him, as he made his way into the house.

"Yes, Mother!" He shook his head, before stepping out of view.

I laughed at his comment, before sitting back down on the curb.

I took a sip from my drink, feeling slightly nauseous.

My head began to spin endlessly, as my thoughts became clouded and foggy. I clutched the sides of my head, feeling a killer headache starting to brew.

Okay, this is weird. Did someone spike my drink or something?

"Are you alright?" A sweet voice echoed in my ears.

I looked up to see a petite brunette girl standing over me. Her grey-blue eyes looking at me with concern.

I felt her hand moving onto my shoulder, shaking me a little for a response.

I shook my head slightly, trying to clear my senses. "Em... Yeah. I think I'm a little dehydrated is all."

"Oh, okay. It's just you look rather pale." She shrugged.

"Well thanks for the concern, but really, I'm fine." I smiled.

She smiles back. "I'm Sydney, by the way." She states, extending out her hand.

I lift my hand up to meet hers, shaking it slightly. "Allison."

"Well it's nice to meet you, Allison." She chirps.

"Same here," I chuckle at her enthusiasm.

"Well I better get going, looks like my brother has been waiting for a while." She points to a car, parked under the blazing light of a street lamp.

I look over at the car, seeing a tall, built figure leaning against one of the doors, casually flicking through something on their phone.

"Why isn't your brother at the party?" I ask, feeling curious.
