As the car turned the corner, uncovering what the trees had been hiding, an audible gasp left my mouth at the amount of people stood in front of a beautiful, modern three-story house.
A crowd stood, curving around the large driveway, awaiting my arrival. I cowered back into my seat as I gazed at the huge grey gates opening, allowing entrance for our cars.
"Hey, we're here now. Don't be scared, I can assure you they are all really good people." Clay assured.
"Yeah, I know. It's just a little overwhelming, you know." I breathed shakily. Clay turned to look at me to make sure I was ok, still not removing his hand he had placed on mine for comfort.
"I told mum a few people, not the whole damn pack." He whispered under his breath. My eyebrows raised.
"Pack?" I frowned. Clay peered over to me and flashed a smile, shaking his head. This was him telling me that he would tell me at a later time. Although, now he has mentioned it, I am beyond curious...
Cole's car pulled up first. I watched him shoot out like a rocket, to go give a 'man hug' to what I can only assume was one of his other friends. A smile crept up to my face; he was happy.
I brought my attention back to the large crowd of people, intently staring at the car I was sat in. Clay cleared his throat, as if a way to tell me I wasn't the only one who was nervous about them watching us.
We pulled up just next to Cole's car, already people were starting to crowd around the car. It was as if I was some kind of celebrity; people just needed to get a glance of me.
"Wait in the car, I don't want you getting trampled on by them." Clay coughed quietly, climbing out the car.
"Oh lovely..."I breathed. I watched Clay directing orders to everyone to back away.
I rested my head against the window, thanking god in the process for them being tainted, so that it helps to hold my identity a little longer.
I scanned my eyes over the crowd, searching for familiar faces. For someone I might have passed in the street, or seen in school. Although there was only one person I really wanted to see. My father.
I remember my father being a tall, broad build. So there was no way I wouldn't notice him. If he were here, I should be able to spot him with no difficulties.
I jumped at the sound of a soft knock on my window. Clay sent me an apologetic look before reaching for the door handle. Panic raised through my veins. I wasn't ready, I couldn't do it.
Clay had only opened the door slightly, carefully watching my every move. He was trying not to scare me. God, I feel so stupid.
Clay cast out his hand for me to take, although he knew we might be here a while. Tears built up in my eyes, I was scared of what they would all think of me.
"Allie it's okay, they all know your situation. They just want to meet you, you know, say hello." Clay shrugged, whilst showing me a friendly smile. I love having a big brother.
I cautiously took Clay's hand, pulling myself up out of the car. I kept my eyes to the ground as Clay shut the door, and started to walk alongside me to the crowd of people.
"Everyone, this is my little sister Allison. As you all know, she doesn't know a lot about us. So don't expect too much from her at this moment in time. Am I clear?" Authority was dripping from Clay's tone. He was clearly idolized by the people here.
They all nodded their heads excitedly, eager to meet me. I felt caged, as if there was no escape now that I had entered their territory.
"Don't worry about them. Derek, mum and dad are inside. Just be polite, try to show that you acknowledge them." Clay told me.
