The sun could barely be seen as Billie had pushed her bed covers to the end of her bed. Yawning she grabbed a hold of her swimmers and put them on underneath a set of shorts and a jumper. While the kettle was boiling, she walked out to the garage, pulled the door up and stepped inside.
Reaching up on her tippy toes to grab her surfboard from the top shelf. In one hand the surfboard and the other wax she placed her board onto the ground and began waxing in a grid lock fashion.
She drank her entire cup of warm coffee feeling her body warming up from the heat of it. Her feet were on the cold sand that almost felt damp and eyes on the horizon already watching out for a set of waves. The closer she got to the shoreline she saw a head of blonde hair bobbing up and down as he hummed.
"Long time no see" she yelled.
He looked around until his eyes met billies and they had softened the slightest.
"Good Morning, ready to get crushed" he joked. Billie had dropped her towel next to his and shifted her feet in preparation.
"Are you ready?, cause it seems as though you're too slow to catch" she chuckled as she started a jog until her feet had met the water and she splashed her way through.
"Hey, not fair!" he yelled as he struggled to get up. The two sat floating on the water as the sun rose in front of them.
Elliots focus had happened to be on something or someone else. Billie had splashed him as she couldn't live in awkward silences too long. "My fingers are starting to go crinkly" she said as she stretched outwards and showed them to Elliot.
"I think that means that it's time to head back and grab some breakfast, did you want to go into town?" Elliot asked as Billie laid on her board fingers drawing patterns in the water.
"Drop our boards at home and then we can walk to the boardwalk?". Elliot nodded his head in agreeance and the two paddled back to the shoreline. As the two had put their boards away Billie put her jumper on and shorts back on and they headed down the gravel road as it was pointless to drive.
"Hey Ell!" Elliot had shouted to a tall redhead girl who was at the counter of the café they were in. "Can you get us two big breakfasts and Billie? What drink would you like?" Elliot leaned his head down to ask her.
Glancing up at the board and back to him she answered, "I'll just have an ice latte".
"Is that all cutis?" Ell had asked him. Billie handed her ten dollars and Elliot had handed the other amount. The two sat outside on the balcony and waited for their food to come.
'How long are you staying here?" Elliot asked as Billie mixed her Iced latte with her straw.
"Maybe a month, I am certainly not hurrying back, if I could I would stay here forever" she said with a sigh.
"you wouldn't miss your friends or family or anything?" he asked curiously
"No, not really, I only have one friend Carter, but we haven't really spoke since I've gotten here" she said as she thought of their last conversation that the two had.
"Oh okay" he said in sympathy.
"One thing that I do want to do since I'm here is sailing"
"Why is that?" Elliot said focusing his entire self onto her. She looked out into the ocean as she answered, "To be free" and turned her head to glance back into his eyes.
