Steve walked towards the door but Clint stopped him. "I'm sorry Cap.. he's gone.."
Steve's eyes got watery thinking about how Tony went missing on his birthday.
3 years later
2nd of July
Natasha tiredly walked down the shield corridor when a random agent suddenly stopped her. "Ma'am- you have to follow me we have something you maybe like to see"
Nat groaned and followed him into one of the rooms. Clint was there, he was smiling brightly. "What is going on here?" She raised her eyebrow.
"Missed me?"she heard a voice from the direction of the computers.
Her heart stopped for a moment when she realized it was Tony's voice.
The computer was showing his face, it obviously was a video chat. "S-Stark?"
She rushed over. "Hey"Tony smiled.
She looked closer. Tony's hair was a mess and he had bags under his eyes.
"You fucking idiot! We thought you we're dead!"she almost yelled. "It's good to see you too"he laughed.
After that Tony told them what happened, how the enemies brought him to a basement to force him to make weapons for them. After these three years it was possible for him to build a computer and make contact with them.
They sent a iron man suit and they knew he'd be back soon.
Natasha sighed and stood up after the long chat with her lost friend.
"Let's go tell Cap!"Clint cheered but the redhead stopped him.
"I have a better idea"the smirk on her face was slightly scaring the agent.
4th of July
Steve yawned and opened his eyes. He looked at th calendar in front of his bed. Usually he'd stand up now, make breakfast, go for a run.. but not today.
Today was his birthday and since his birthday took away all his happiness he'd just stay in bed for the whole day.
He looked next to him. Empty.
He closed his eyes again and sighed.
Suddenly the door opened and someone rushed in. "Stevee! Get up!"
"No"he pouted and placed a pillow over his head.
Nat, who was the person that had rushed in sat beside him on the bed.
"Come on! We made you breakfast and we got you something for your birthday"
He rolled his eyes and turned around as he looked at her.
"Cool, but I didn't ask for it so can you please go away and leave me alone"
She sighed and stroked his hair before cupping his cheek.
"C'mon on. We really tried hard to find the perfect present for you and you know that Clint can't cook but he tried it for you"she smirked and Steve as he stood up and pulled a shirt over his head.
He followed Nat down stairs while looking emotinless down at the floor.
His hair was still messy but he couldn't care less. He hated this day so much.
"Morning Cap!"
they all hugged him and wished him happy birthday even though he knew he wouldn't have that.
"Open your present! C'mon!"they cheered and he dragged himself over to the room they told him. He saw the present that was.. big.. really big!
He smiled for the first time today.
"That is huge.. and heavy"he said as he tried to pick it up.
He opened it slowly and saw the letters on it. It was the stark industries logo. He looked at them confused and they just smiled at him.
He swallowed and opened the present but suddenly something or someone jumped out of it.
He fell backwards on the floor and then looked back up to see.. a man.. his man. Tony was standing in front of him with sweatshirts and a captain america shirt.
"Happy Birthday baby"he said and laughed at Steve's shocked look.
He stopped laughing when he saw how Steve's eyes were filling with tears. The blonde covered his mouth with his hand.
Tony quickly climbed out of the box and sat beside Steve.
He warped his arms around his boyfriend.
"T-Tony?"
Tony laughed and kissed his head.
"Shh I'm here now everything is okay"he said as he felt Steve pulling ungainly at his shirt while crying tears of happiness.
"I-I love y-you so m-much, p-please never l-leave again"Steve sobbed and leandd as much into Tony as he could.
"I love you too and I won't leave again"he said and kissed Steve's tears away.
The other's looked at them and lost eventually a few tears since that was just heart warming.
After a few minutes Steve had calmed down and was laying in Tony's arms at the floor.
"You like your present?"Clint asked and smirked at Steve. "Most definitely"he laughed. His eyes were red and puffy from all the crying but he didn't care he was just so happy to have his Tony back.
