This is an au where Steve kills himselr after Tony's death so expect angst <3"Lift the sweater"
"No"
"Show me your arms"Tony warned
"No!"He carelessly pulled up the sleeves of the shirt and saw Steve's arms.
His wrists, hands and lower arms all over with cuts and lines. Steve blushed and pulled them away quickly.
"Steve-"
"No 'M fine"
"Yeah sure you are"The blonde looked away and Tony cupped his cheeks and made him look into his eyes.
"Please.. talk to me.. why? Huh why are you doing this?"
"Why? Seriously Tony? C'mon my life is nothing.. i was a weak small kid with asma yeah right i never meant anything to anyone. Oh wait I had my parents. Oh no they passed. Well then I thought I had Bucky. Yeah well he was the one to fall off a fucking train. Then I got into the stupid ice. I swear to god if I would've just died in there everything would've been okay. But no. I had to wake up again. I had no one. No one. And then suddenly I had you. Then I had the team. Yeah well wow i mean Clint and Bruce see me as nothing as the person who tells them what to do and Thor? I'm literally the non existing side character in his story. Natasha was the only one that listened at least a little to me but well she also wasn't my baby sitter. So if she wasn't there.. I had no one.. then Bucky.. Bucky came back and tried to kill me. When I was below him I just hoped that he'd break my nose and end all that but no I woke up in a stupid hospital. And then.. there was you.. your snarky comments.. your sarcastic shit but you still cared about me.. you were there for me.. the first person that was always there for me, a best friend or more.. and I.. messed it up.. by lying at you.. I just- I couldn't.."his voice had broken a few times but now he just fell into Tony's arms.
Silent tears slid down his cheeks. It felt so good to talk. About everything.
"I'm still here, shh"Later that day Steve Rogers watched the only person that ever cared about him die. Tony died in front of his eyes. Not with him holding him but with Pepper.
It gave him the rest. The proof that he should finally stop all this.
And he did.
