Steve sat there. One arm around Tony and the other one on his lap.
It was movie evening at the avengers tower. It was Natasha's turn to pick the movie. So they were watching a cringe love movie.
In the middle of the kissing scene the redhead yelled: "look they're like Steve and Tony"
They all laughed and Steve blushed.
"Come on man! We're not dating!"he giggled and found it funny until he saw his friend looking up at him.
He had a confused and hurt look on his face. He felt stupid. "We're- not...?"he mumbled. Steve's mind didn't quite get what was going on but in the next moment the brunette ran out of the room.
"No! Tony hey!"he tried to grab Tony's hand but he shook it off. When he tried to stand up Bruce pushed him back down.
"Cap you messed up badly, but give him two minutes. If you go now he'll probably rip off your head.."Bruce said and gave his shoulder a pat.
Everyone was looking at Steve now. He felt so bad.
After a while he stood up and went to look for Tony. "Tony?"he asked when he opened the door of his bedroom.
He saw the younger one, sitting on the floor, knees pulled to his chest.
"Oh Tony.."he sighed and sat down beside him.
"I'm so stupid. I'm so stupid. I really thought that I... fuck"
"Language"Steve mumbled and looked at him, knowing that he wasn't the best help right now.
"stop! I'm an embarrassement! I really thought that you'd- you know.. at least a little bit. I don't know what I thought!"Tony said and tears of embarrassment filled his eyes
Steve felt guilty and warped his arms around the younger one.
"Tony..you're not an embarrassment! You're the best! I'm sorry i made you think that! But if you want.. we could.. forget this and start new.. maybe have dinner?"Steve asked and rubbed the brunette's back.
"That would be awesome"Tony mumbled into the crook of his neck.
"Well then. It's a date"Steve smiled and heard that a cute giggle escaped from his lover.
