2 (What is he? A girl?)

"Soobin, am I ugly?" Yeonjun asks his cousin after school. The two were at the skatepark, Soobin was learning a trick while Yeonjun sat glumly on his skateboard; elbows on his knees and chin on the palms of his hands.

"As your cousin, I feel uncomfortable with answering that"

"Im serious!"

"So am I! why are you even asking?"

"Huening Kai keeps rejecting any offer I bring up. He's really pretty, so maybe he doesnt like ugly people?" Yeonjun jumped to conclusions.

"Or maybe he just doesn't like you" Soobin pointed out.

"But he doesn't even know me!"

"I don't know man, maybe just ask him then?"

"That's the worst idea you've had since the time you wanted to come clean about setting a barn on fire"

...

So, Yeonjun tried to not think about Kai anymore. It worked for the rest of that day, but the next day in class Huening Kai walked in with tinted pink cheeks from the winter air, and just like that, he was stuck on yeonjun's mind.

The teacher was turned around, writing notes on the white board. Yeonjun was bored, he knew all this information already, so he decided to try to get Huening Kais attention.

He grabbed a sticky note and wrote a message on it.

'Hi :)'

Yeonjun was satisfied with it and folded it neatly. He tapped the shoulder of the peer sitting in front of him.

"Pass this to Huening Kai" he whispered. The peer nodded his head and thus began a chain of people passing the note, until it finally reached Kai in the front.

Huening Kai was surprised when a peer tapped his shoulder and handed him a note. He read it with a quizzical look on his face and turned around to find the person who sent it.

Yeonjun smiled and waved his hand ecstatically at the new student. Huening Kai rolled his eyes and balled the note up; throwing it into the trash can and going back to note taking.

...

Yeonjun was frustrated as ever, and it was obvious.

Soobin has never seen his cousin so upset before. Yeonjun kept sighing and rolling his eyes, his mood killing the vibe.

"Dude, WHATS wrong?" Soobin asked his cousin.

"Im despised for absolutely no reason, that's what's wrong!" Yeonjun angrily grabs a water bottle for his lunch.

"You've had one conversation with him, just let it go" Soobin snapped at his cousin. Yeonjun almost agreed with him- until something happened. Whether it be fate chance, or a miracle.

"Is Huening Kai sitting with Taehyun?" Soobin choked at the sound of the name.

Sure enough, Huening Kai was seated next to Taehyun. The two laughing and conversing.

Kang Taehyun was Soobins tutor when he was a first year, and was also the reason he passed math. Since then, he's had the biggest crush on him but has been too much of a coward to approach him- aside from the hellos they exchange when passing each other in the halls.

"Do they know each other?" Yeonjun wondered out loud.

"It looks like it"

"Let's go"

"Go where!?"

"To sit with them!"

"Are you crazy!?" Soobin practically yelled.

"You want to talk to Taehyun don't you?"

"Y-you just want an excuse to talk to Huening Kai"

"So?" Yeonjun was already making his way to the table, and Soobin nervously followed.

"I think you just need to change the format of your notes. Try color coding with pens" Taehyun advises.

"I thought you were going to comment on my messy hand writing" Huening Kai says.

"Oh, I just thought that was obvious" Taehyun smirks at his friend.

"Hey!" Yeonjun sets his tray down on the table, Soobin silently taking a seat next to his friend.

"H-Hi Taehyun" Soobin bows his head respectfully.

"Hey guys, what's up?" Taehyun says.

"We just decided to pay you a visit, you never talk to us anymore" Yeonjun stuck his bottom lip out and pouted.

"Ah, we're not in the same class so it's harder to talk" Taehyun laughs slightly.

"Huening Kai is in the same class as us and you still talk to him" Yeonjun pointed out.

"Oh, Kai and I have been friends since childhood! Our brothers went to school together and we were introduced through them" Taehyun informed. Yeonjun nodded his head and pretended like he cared, and then changed the topic.

"It sucks that you're not in our class anymore- Soobin still sucks at math" Yeonjun directs the attention.

"Really?" Taehyun looks at Soobin, making the elders hear race.

"N-not as bad as I used to be!"

"If you want I can help you with your homework. Do you have it?" Soobin grabbed his backpack and unzipped it, he began searching through the cluttered mess of his backpack. He really needs a binder.

Meanwhile, Huening Kai stands up.

"I'm going to buy milk"

"I also was going to buy milk! We should go together" Yeonjun stands up as well. Huening Kai side glances to Taehyun who was helping look through Soobins backpack for his homework.

"Okay then.." Huening Kai hesitantly says. Yeonjun and Lai fall in step next to each other. The air around them tense all the way until they reached the line to buy milk.

"So.. how do you know Tae?" Huening Kai broke the silence.

"He used to tutor my cousin"

"Who's your cousin?"

"Soobin"

"Hey Yeonjun" a peer came up to him and they exchange the bro handshake. Nothing else was said and the peer continued his day.

"Who was that?" Huening Kai asked as they moved up in the line.

"Oh uhhh I don't know" Yeonjun admitted. It's not that he sucked at remembering names- he just didn't care enough to learn it. "Did you see him buy pink milk? What is he? a girl?" Yeonjun laughed

"Oh.." it was finally their turn.

"What kind do you want?"

"It's okay, you buy yours first" Kai says.

"I'll have plain white" Yeonjun orders and pays for his drink. He steps aside and let's Huening Kai order his.

"Can I have a pink milk?"
