Newt knew that there was only one place that Draculous could consider home: America. That had to be where Draculous was taking her, and Newt needed to be a few steps ahead. Lucky for him, Tina had been doing a lot of hard work in New York. You see, Tina wasn't unprepared for a situation like this, and she didn't want Newt to be either. Even though Newt was convinced that Britain was safe, Tina had sent him some 'supplies' should the situation ever arrive that Newt needs to get information to her as quickly as possible: a notebook she had charmed herself, and a portkey to Manhattan.

The notebook's properties were simple: it was like a diary that she and Newt could both fill out, and they could see what the other one wrote. Instant communication. She had her own copy she kept on her at all times, and if Newt wrote anything inside of it, she would be able to see it. Ever since they found out that Draculous could easily intercept and read their letters, they opted for this way to communicate.

Tina had just gotten home from work, for in New York, it was barely five o'clock. She had made it a habit to check the notebook four times a day: when she woke up, when she went to lunch, when she got home from work and when she went to bed. She was meticulous about it and insisted that she was consistent, she didn't want to miss anything if a situation were to arrive. Tonight, for the first time, there was something there.

Newt had scribbled a hurried message on the first page. His handwriting was messier than she's ever seen it, Tina could only guess that he wrote everything in it faster than usual.

Draculous was at a Ministry of Magic party tonight – he must be working with someone there. He dropped a chandelier and took ______, repeating that he wanted her to come home. I can only guess that he's heading your way now. I am anxiously awaiting your response next to my portkey, the moment you get to the designated location where I will land, write to me and I will be there. Please respond to me as soon as possible. – NAFS.

Tina hurriedly got out a quill from her bag, writing on the page. Give me five minutes and I will meet you.

They had to stay one step ahead of Draculous, and Tina suspected that he finally made a mistake. The second that she knew where he was and found her, Tina was going to arrest him and put him away for good. Somewhere he couldn't hurt anyone ever again.

The time was nearly here.

"Let me go, Draculous!" ______ yelled at him, trying to get out of the ropes that he had tied around her wrists. They were hidden below deck on a boat heading back to America, and she was trying to be the loudest stowaway possible to try and get help.

"If you keep shouting and kicking around, I'm going to have to render you unconscious for the rest of our trip, and I'd rather not do that," Draculous replied coolly, leaning closer to her. "_______, darling, you're confused. Soon enough, you'll realize this is what's best for you."

"I want to be with Newt, you conceited idiot," she spat at him. "If you take me back, I'll just run away again. I'll run, and I'll keep running."

"I will always catch you. Aren't you tired of this game of hide and seek, _______? It would be so much easier if you just stayed with me. I need you in my life, _______, without you nothing is the same. I can't think straight unless you're by my side, and you're the only thing that keeps me stable."

"You're unstable with or without me, Draculous. You always have been, and you always will be. I don't even remember what I saw in you in the first place. This is not love, I don't know what it is, but I want out of it."

Draculous shook his head. "All we need to do is start over. Your little accident with that other wizard gave me a brilliant idea: I know a wizard who does fantastic work with memory charms. If I can get him to erase your memories of him, and all of the painful memories you claim to have with me, we can start over. We'll have a second chance to make this work."

______ looked at him in shock. "Even if I forget about him, Newt won't forget about me. He's a smart man, and he loves me. He will find me, and I'll get my memory back, I know I will. You don't have a place in my life anymore, Draculous. Just face it."

"I'll just have to kill him then," Draculous said nonchalantly. "He deserves it, anyways. He touched something that's mine, he even kissed you. That's not allowed."

______ shook her head. "You're certifiably out of your mind, you idiot. Someone is going to find me, I promise you. Even if someone doesn't, I'll get myself out of these ropes, and I will get away. I'm an expert at getting away from you."

"Look at where you are now. You really believe that? Oh, darling..." He just shook his head, and went to stroke her cheek, but _______ reached over to bite him. He pulled his hand back, an angry expression on his face as he pulled out his wand, pointing it at her. "I won't warn you again. Any more loud noises, and you'll be waking up in New York. Let's just enjoy our trip, okay?"

Like hell I'll enjoy it, ______ thought, sitting back and thinking up ways to get out of the situation. She was tired of giving in to him, tired of being scared. She was going to fight this time, and she was going to win.
