Gotta Get Over This Cold Tea
Whatever side of the argument you're on about it being the cold temperatures that make people sick in the winter, when you have a cold and your head is aching and your nose is running, what you really need is to get over it as quickly as possible. Here is a tried and true remedy that you can drink to help give your body a boost.
COLD TEA RECIPE (Yes, we know the name is very creative!)
In a mug, combine the following to make a paste:
2 Tbsp honey
2 Tbsp lemon juice
2 Tbsp apple cider vinegar
cinnamon powder - as much as you can stand, start with 1/8 tsp and increase from there if you don't normally use cinnamon
Fill the mug with hot water. As soon as it is cool enough to drink, stir well and drink as quickly as possible (many recommend plugging your nose).
Once you stop stamping your feet, wait 4-8 hours and make another cup. Usually 2-3 cups a day helps kick a cold quickly.
Menstrual Cramp Tea
This recipe was taught to me by a yogini who explained that the ingredients help to warm your insides. If you've ever put a hot water bottle on your tummy to help soothe menstrual cramps, then think of this drink like a hot water bottle from your stomach out.
CRAMP RELIEF TEA RECIPE
In a mug combine the following to make a paste:
2 Tbsp honey
cinnamon powder - as much as you can stand, start with 1/8 tsp and increase from there if you don't normally use cinnamon
ginger powder - as much as you can stand, start with 1/8 tsp and increase from there if you don't normally use ginger; alternatively you can use slices of peeled ginger, start with one 2" long slice and build from there
Fill the mug with hot water, sip and relax. Drink whenever cramps strike.
