16. | Cold Day, Warm Hearts Writing CONTEST!

Pink Dandelion Quarterly seeks warm and fluffy romance-themed chick lit stories for the Winter 2019 issue! In order to tempt our readers to submit their own lovely work, we created the Cold Days, Warm Hearts Flash-Fiction Contest.

Please read the rules below carefully and thoroughly so that your entry can be considered.

❄️ Female MC (main character). We welcome diversity, including age diversity. Got a story about a 90 year old great-grandma with dating issues? An African-Italian hosiery model whose boyfriend won't commit? Teenage trans girl whose crush is sending mixed signals? You got it, we want it!

❄️ Winter setting--we like snow, ice, mittens, steamy hot chocolate, Ugg boots, cold noses, blazing fires in the hearth, Valentine's Day, New Year's champagne toasts, etc.

❄️ Proofread the heck out of it. Spelling and grammar and punctuation will be taken into consideration. The less editing we have to do, the warmer our little editorial hearts.

❄️ 100-300 words. Any word counts not conforming WILL be disqualified.

❄️ November 1 deadline

❄️ Post entry as a comment on this contest page and tag at least 3 people in the comment (tags aren't included in the word count, so feel free to tag anyone you think might be interested in entering the contest!)

❄️ Follow the Chick Lit profile. 

The WINNER will receive the following:

🤍 A follow by the Chick Lit Nest

🤍 A first-chapter read and comments on your book of choice by the Chick Lit Nest

🤍 Possible invitation to join the Nest (we do have to make sure you write mostly chick lit/women's fic/romantic comedy) which means you could have a book added to our list and opportunities to be critiqued and to critique the work of other members.

🤍 Publication in the Winter 2019 issue

Fame, fortune, and a closet full of Manolos. Just kidding. We can't guarantee that. But everything else up there? Done!

We may also publish non-winning entries in the magazine and will certainly contact you so you can brag to all your friends and Wattpad followers that you are being published in Wattpad's awesome new chick lit magazine. (And of course, readers will be able to see your story on the contest page. Tell your friends to read and leave replies gushing about your entry!)
