2 years later
We were at yet another village.
I just came from practicing archery but then I see my house..on fire but the fire was strange the flames were black
"Mom!Dad!"I run into the house to see a man covered in flames ,my dad unconscious on the floor and my mom being strangled.

"Viola..it's you or her who am I bringing back home!?"He says to her ignoring my presence
"Leave Y/n alone please..take me..it's fine."my mom says struggling
"Let her go!"I shout and as I shouted that the flames grew wilder almost as if I could control them somehow

I run to him and jump grabbing ahold of his arm trying to loosen his grip on my mothers neck he throws me to the side
"Brat!silence!"The man says

"Let me go!i need to talk to her!"My mom says
He lets her go my mom runs over to me a hugs me.
"Y/n listen,I love you and your father more than you can ever know but right now I need to go for a very long time I might not be able to see you..but please be strong..and take care of your father dear promise me that?"my mother says stroking my hair
"I promise mom.."I say through sobs
"Let's go!"The man roughly Lifts my mom up and when he left the flames died out.

Back then I regretted being so weak and I could've been stronger and put that prick in his place,but I was just a kid.I stood helplessly watching as he took her away

I rushed over to my father and he was alive I called people in the village to help me and they did.

3 years later
It had been around the time the holy war had started my dad grieved for about 2 years after my mother left but he's slowly starting to get better.
I'd even say he looked happy for a long time.
I walked in my house to see my father holding hands with a lady with short black hair
"Y/n..this is Mei..my new girlfriend."my father says

I take a look at her then look at him and walk out to a nearby spring taking a seat on a log tossing stones.
I was happy that my dad was happy but a selfish part of me wasn't happy that he was moving on it felt like
he was replacing her
I toss a stone behind me and rest my head in my arms but I didn't hear it hit the tree.Confused I turn around and see Mei.

"Today must be my lucky day."I say in a sarcastic tone
"Your dad tells me you have quiet the temper."Mei smiles throwing the stone I threw in the river
"So?"I reply
She laughs and sits next to me
"Move away from me or I will punch you."I say not looking at her
"All I'm saying is maybe you can put that temper somewhere else."She says
"That's it."I stand up and throw a punch
She dodges it with ease

I give her a few more of my punches she catches one fist and flips me over.
"Hey you can't do that I'm a child!"I say
"Hey some people don't care if you're a child or not.."She helps me up and I scoff.
"I wanna teach you hand in hand combat."She says
"Hand in hand combat?"I ask
"It's basically fighting where I'm from ,I'm the best at it."She says
"Fighting?I like the sound of that."I say sitting down next to her
"How about I start teaching you all about it and dodging?"She says
"That'll make me happy I guess..."I mutter
"Good."She smiles putting her hand on my head
I spent most of the day talking to Mei I didn't think I would but here I am.

A month later
I go to a store and steal some arrows for my bow and The owner of the shop catches me.
"Really Y/n again?!"He says lifting me up by the back of my shirt
"I need them!"I argue
He takes me to my house and knocks on the door revealing Mei
"Mei she did it again."He says when the door opens.
"Oh really.."Mei unzips her top a little causing the man to drop me
"I'm sorry please forgive her."Mei says winking at him with her voice in a soft tone
"Stop that!"He gets flustered
"Please."I wink at him
"Hey kid stop that you're 10!"The man says running away
Mei and I laugh seeing his reaction
"Thanks mom."I say laughing without even noticing in
I stop after releasing what I just said
"You called me mom!"Mei says excited
"N-no!"I say
"You did!"She tickles me
I laugh and run to my room
"Get changed y/n we're going to train!"Mei says
I squeal in excitement.
