Dedicated to Undefinedx12 for fanning and liking this story so much (:

Eva waited for at least a good 15 minutes before she headed over to Micah's house. He didn't live far from her house. His family was fortunately to buy back the house they'd moved out of. She figured she'd hang out with his mom for the remaining wait.

Micah's mom, Mrs. McKinney answered the door before she fully got out of her car.

"Good morning, Evangeline. Micah is running late as usual. Why don't you come in and wait?" Mrs. McKinney smiled at her.

"Yes ma'am." She entered.

They both sat on the couch. One thing Evangeline loved about the McKinney home was the homey feel it had. Pictures of the whole family littered the walls and coffee table. If she wanted to see Micah in a diaper, she knew to walk down the hall towards the bedrooms. The house only had one floor. So many nights Eva had spent the night until both her parents and Micah's agreed they were too old for sleepovers.

"How are things with you, dear? Anything new? Any new boys?" She raised an eyebrow.

Evangeline blushed deeply. "No, ma'am. Nothing new."

"Oh, come on. Some boy must have realized what a great catch you are." Mrs. McKinney persisted.

"Well, I--"

Micah tumbled into the living room while he struggle to put on his shirt. "Mom, stop harassing her."

Eva sent him a mental thank you and quickly stood up. "We better get going before we're really late. Bye, Mrs. M!" Eva waved as she made a dash for her car with Micah behind her.

"Sorry about my mom...again. She can get a little nosy." He mumbled as he climbed in the passenger side of her car.

Eva looked at the dashboard. They were totally going to be late.

"Great. We don't have time to get food. I think you did that on purpose."

"Maybe I did. I'll get lunch. I promise."

Evangeline simply rolled her eyes. She highly doubted her would own up to that promise anytime soon. They rode together bickering until Eva parked her car into the student lot like the other student drivers.

"See you after school." Micah called as he went to his group of friends by the soccer field next to the parking lot.

Eva locked her doors and left for the building. As strangely as it seems, it's not that Micah is ashamed to be her friend once they got to school. They just don't mix with the same crowds. Or more like Eva didn't mix with his crowd. Eva mostly hung out with herself. Of course she had a few friends, but she enjoyed being on her own. She hitched her bag higher onto her shoulder and walked to her locker, self-consciously hiding her face with her hair. She assumed her wallflower status. She quickly gathered her needed supplies.

"Hey, Evangeline." A girl named, Abigail from one of Eva's classes greets her.

"Oh, hey, Abby. Did you get through the chem work last night?"

"I did it in class yesterday. It was easy." She smiled.

Eva smiled back keeping the fact she struggled a little to herself. "Well, that's reassuring. I have to get to class. I'll see you later." Eva shuts her locker.

Abigail waves. "See you."

As always, Eva was the first one to arrive. "Good morning, Mr. Hopskin." She gave a small wave to her teacher.

"Good morning, Evangeline. How are you?" He answered politely.

"I'm good. And yourself?"

"I'm over-worked." He joked.
