Central Park. Many people are out enjoying the Summer breezes. We see one family under the shade of a tree. Empty dishes show that they may have just finished a picnic. The woman, Katie, has her arm around her husband, Chuck. Their son, Liam, is reading a book to their 2 dogs, Max, a brown and white Jack Russell Terrier, and Duke, a large, shaggy Newfoundland Mix.
Max: There's no way life can be better than this. Forget about the luckiest dog in New York. I AM the luckiest dog in the world. Thanks to the special people in my life right now. In case you're wondering, name's Max. Here beside me is my brother Duke and our boy Liam. No, he's not literally ours, he's really Katie and Chuck's. I suppose we're more like his big brothers? Does that make sense? (Liam finishes reading the book and wraps his arms around Max's neck. Duke, feeling left out, licks his face, and Liam manages to get one arm around Duke.) I guess it does. I mean we look out for each other. Duke and I have been around Liam his entire life. I'd do anything for him. When I say anything, I mean anything. It's great for him, it's great for me and it's great for everyone around us. (Liam then helps Chuck pack up to head back to the apartment while Katie put Max and Duke's collars on.) There's just one problem.
SONG: Here in New York City (Upbeat)
Max: Hey there! Welcome to New York City! I love this city! It's been my home all my life! Hold up! My name is Max! Here in New York City
Duke: And I'm Duke!
Both: And we both love this city!

Liam (wearing a graduation cap. He also has a map of NYC and a teacher's pointer.): The City of New York, usually called either New York City, NYC, or simply New York was settled in 1624 and its 5 boroughs were consolidated into a single city in 1898. 5 boroughs compromise the city: The Bronx, Queens, Brooklyn, Staten Island and where me and my family live, Manhattan.
