Katie & Chuck's Apartment, Living Room
(There is some indistinct conversation between Katie and Chuck. Duke is eating dog food while Liam is eating cereal beside him. Max lies in his bed, gazing off into the distance.)
Max: Where was I? Oh yes. The one thing is that I can't put my paw on anything that's wrong. The problem isn't whatever's going on with those two, at least not hopefully. And it's definitely not with Liam. If anything, he's going to be heading to Kindergarten soon. Duke and I have been getting him ready all week, and will continue to do so throughout the next two weeks. But I feel like the problem is coming from inside me. But for what? (Just then, Katie accidentally steps on his tail.) Hey! Little dog here!
Katie: Sorry, Maxie! Do you think you and Duke can stay out of trouble while we're gone?
Max: Bark, bark!
Chuck: Do you think Liam will be fine on his own?
Katie: We'll only be gone for 30 minutes like you said. Besides, he has Max and Duke to watch him.
(Katie and Chuck exit.)
SONG: Meet the Pets (Soulful, Influenced by shuffle)
Max: I'm Max and this is my brother, Duke.
Duke: And this is our boy Liam. Our owner's Katie and Chuck just left.
Gidget: I'm Gidget! I'm Max's girlfriend and I once learned how to be a cat.
Chloe: That would be thanks to me. By the way I'm Chloe.
(Buddy & Mel enter. Mel is chewing something.)
Mel: Guys, I found treats!
Buddy: Aw, Mel!
Chloe: Were you in my litter box again? (Looks like she is going to puke.)
Buddy: By the way, I'm Buddy and this is my best friend Mel. I'm always laid back.
Pops: I'm Pops and I teach a puppy school.
Pickles: I'm Pickles
Tiny: I'm Tiny
Princess: And I'm Princess
Snowball: I'm Snowball. I'm always there to save the day as Captain Snowball.
Daisy: I'm Daisy. I'm Captain Snowball's sidekick.
Norman: And finally, I'm Norman.
(Song Ends. All pets except Max and Duke exit.)
Max: I can't believe Liam is going to Kindergarten.
Duke: Neither can I.

Max: Our boy Liam
Duke: Heading to elementary school.
Both: Growing so fast. It only feels like yesterday he was born.
Max: It feels like just yesterday that he told me he loved me.
Both: We've been around him like big brothers since the day he was born. Growing so fast. Our Liam. (Song ends.)
Max (to Liam & Duke): Alright, what are we doing today?
