Katie and Chuck's apartment, Living Room
(Katie's grandmother blinks her eyes open to find Liam staring back at her. Rooster and Duke are on the floor, exhausted from having to carry the sleeping lady to the couch.)
Katie's Grandmother: How's our little boy doing?
Liam: I'm doing OK, Nana. (Just then, the door to the apartment unlocks. Max, Duke and Rooster's ears perk up.)
Duke and Max: Katie! (Liam hops off his great-grandmother's lap and joins the two dogs.)
Liam: Mom! Dad!
(Katie and Chuck enter via stage left.)
Katie: Oh, my goodness. Three of my favorite boys! How was your day.
Liam: I had fun, Mom! (Duke and Max bark their answers)
Chuck: Look out! Giant bag of dog food coming in! (Sets it down near the three dog food bowls.) Who's hungry for some cheeseburgers?
Liam (raises his hand in the air and jumps up and down excitedly): Me! Me! Me! (Duke and Max bark theor answers, the latter jumping as high as Liam. Rolling his eyes, Rooster smiles. Katie and her grandmother nod in approval. Minutes later, everyone is enjoying cheeseburgers in the family room. Max, Duke and Rooster have some mixed in with their dog food.)
Max: Perfect.
