Katie and Chuck's Apartment, Living Room
(Max and Duke are about to leave to find Gidget, Hu and Laohu. Buddy and Mel are babysitting Liam.)
Max: Liam is going to Kindergarten.
Duke: Our little boy.
Max & Duke (tearing up): He's growing so fast. (Max tries to stop Liam from grabbing a knife off of the kitchen table, and leads him over to some of his blocks.)
Max: You must watch him with your lives.
Buddy: Don't worry, Max. We got this, right Mel?
Mel: Yep. He tastes like butterflies and joy.
Max: Katie and Chuck will be gone until tonight since they went to see Shep in the hospital. Katie called her grandmother to watch Liam. You two will be watching him until we either get back with Gidget and Laohu or until Katie's grandmother comes, which I think should be noon.
SONG: Growing so Fast (Reprise) (Softly, bud moderately)
Max: Liam is the joy of our lives.
Duke: Which means you must take good care of him. He is such a treasure to Max and I
Max: You must never take your eyes off him.
Both: He's growing so fast.
Max: Please take good care of him.
Duke: Extra good care of our Liam.
Max: Think of babysitting Liam as your owners taking their eyes off the road.
Duke (echoing): Think of babysitting Liam as your owners taking their eyes off the road.
Both: Growing so fast. Our Liam.
Max (Spoken): Listen to Mel and Buddy, Liam. See you later.
Liam (Spoken): Later, Gator!
(Song ends. Duke and Max exit stage left.)
