Katie & Chuck's apartment, Living Room
Max (frantic, scratching himself incessantly): I can't breathe. I CAN'T BREATHE! I CAN'T BREATHE!
Rooster: Max, get a hold of yourself and take a deep breath.
(The Jack Russell terrier does so. He then exits to the fire escape and stares up at the late afternoon sky.)
SONG: Wherever You Are (Gentle Ballad)
Max: My beloved Liam is out in New York City lost and I'm sure so cold. Please help me find him. I'm in desperate need and my heart's going to break. Help me find him. Without my Liam, I don't think I can live. Please help me find my Liam and bring him home. Wherever you are, Liam. Please be OK. I can hear your laugh and I can see you smile. Liam, please I know you're somewhere you there. (Key change then an instrumental break.) Oh, Liam I know you're out there somewhere. I can hear your laugh every day of my life and see your smile in theses clouds. Please come home, Liam. Wherever you are.
(Song ends. Max then heads back to the living room.)
Duke: It's OK, Max. I know we'll find Gidget and Liam wherever he is.
Max: Thanks, Duke. You're the best brother ever.
SONG: The Plan (Reprise) (Suspenseful)
Snowball: Alright everyone. I have formulated the plan to find Hu, Laohu and T.D.'s kid.
(Daisy and Tiny are behind him, showing the plan to everyone else.)
Daisy: We plan to head out to Brooklyn to shut Sergei down.
Max: Rescue a kid and two tigers.
Chloe: And hope all ends well.
Tiny & Norman: What do you want us to do.
Max: You'll see.
Snowball: Our friends have Exhibit A, have been captured by Sergei, Exhibit B, and they escaped in this car, Exhibit C.
Buddy: Guys, focus! Here's the crime scene.
Tiny (loses his patience): WHAT DO YOU WANT US TO DO?
Max: You'll see.
(Song ends. Everyone except Tiny, Sweetpea and Norman exit Stage Left.)
Tiny: I can't believe we got booted out of the plan.
Norman: Max said we have the most important job of all.
Tiny: If you call fooling someone's grandmother the most important job of all.
SONG: How to Fool an Old Lady (Rap, Influenced by Tango)
Tiny: If Max wanted us to do this, why didn't he say so?
Norman: He did!
Sweetpea: (Chirps)
Norman: We have to fool Katie's grandmother.
Tiny: It totally beats going out with everyone else.
Norman: Not to mention, we're in some of Liam's clothes which helps a great deal.
Tiny & Norman: If this is what Max calls how to fool an old lady.
(Song ends)
(Katie's grandmother finds her glasses.)
Katie's Grandmother: Ah, there they are. (Notices the costume coming towards her.) That is a very clever costume, Liam. Come on, the cookies are almost done. They're your favorite, chocolate chip.
