Christmas

"Good morning!" I butter the toast with too much enthusiasm as Aaron walks down the stairs and yawns. Chelsa already decided she liked him better because she follows him everywhere. I'm totally fine with that, because when she does something wrong (pees or poops, tears up a shoe or pillow.) it's his job to clean it up.
"Good morning, what's for breakfast?" He walks over to me and wraps his arms around my waist and kisses me.
I smile and kiss back, then go back to making breakfast. "Pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage, and bacon. And anything else you want. It's Christmas, I'll make you anything."
I can feel him smirking into my cheek. "I already have everything I want." He pulls away and grabs another spatula, and starts helping me make breakfast.
"Aww, you don't have to help." I smile at him and take the spatula out of his hand, using it to simultaneously flip pancakes and nudge sausages and bacon around the pans.
Suddenly, Aaron takes both spatulas from behind me, sets them on the table, turns me around, and kisses me passionately. I kiss back immediately, and we sit there like that for at least five minutes, just kissing.
Until we smell smoke and the smoke detector goes off. "Oh god!" I pull away reluctantly ad turn back to the now black and burning pancakes, the scorched sausage, the hopeless eggs, and the extremely crispy bacon.
"Oh well, I like burnt food." Aaron comes beside me and helps salvage what's left of our breakfast.

After we finish and clean up breakfast, Aaron tells me he bought me something,
"Just go sit on the couch and close your eyes." He smiles and runs upstairs, and he looks excited to give it to me. I close my eyes, and a moment later he comes back down the stairs as quickly as he let.
"Okay, stay still and keep your eyes closed, I promise I wont pull a prank." I can see his smirk in my mind, and the image makes me smile. I feel his hands lightly brush the top of my head as he pulls his hands over in front of my face. He takes his hands back, keeps them there for a moment, and pulls away, dropping a necklace on my neck. "Okay."
I open my eyes and my hands go to the little charm on the necklace he gave me. It was a simple silver rectangle with little gems on the edges, but with A&A engraved in fancy lettering on it. Aphmau and Aaron.
"Oh my god, it's- it's beautiful!" I turned around and hugged him, and he hugged back, and kisses the side of my head. "Now, it's my turn" I pull away and smile brightly, turning to run up the stairs.
I get to the top of the stairs, and go to the small storage closet at the end of the hall. I open the door, flip the light switch, and begin to dig into the back for the gift I bought him. I pull open a small drawer to one of those office organizer things, to reveal a pristine dark gray leather box.
I open the box, just to make sure it was there, and find the beautiful black watch still there. I close the box, turn off the lights, close the door, and head back downstairs to find Aaron looking out the window into the snow-covered landscape. "I'm back, c'mere. Open your hand."
He opens his hand, and I take the box from behind my back and place it directly in his palm. He grabbed ahold of it with his other hand and opens it, revealing the expensive watch. "I love it! But... how much did you pay for this? This is a top-of-the-line Logines watch!" He smiles up at me and tries to get the watch on.
"Here, let me get it." I take the watch from his hands and fasten it around his right wrist. "I love you so much." I close the gap between us and lean into his chest.
"I love you too."

We walk along the sidewalk, my hand in his, all bundled up in our winter coats and hats and gloves. We could see our breath in front of us as we walked to the park.
"Hey, KC told me Katelyn was throwing a New Year's party and inviting all her crazy neighbors and friends. She wants us to come, do you want to go?"
